ok... someone had way too much fun with that headline.
Pangya was terrific. You may not like the graphics or other aspects of the game but its core was a solid golf motion sim.
FPS controls in Metroid Prime and Medal of Honor are much better than their non-motion console counterparts. Things aren't turning nearly as fast as Nintendo has hoped, but neither have the DS controls... Phantom Hourglass is still the high point for creative user of that platform. It'll take some time, but already Capcom, EA and a few others have gotten the drift.
This news needs to be promoted on a huge basis, because it's going to take huge amounts of public outcry to stop this.
Every person on the G8 panels is being paid large sums by the RIAA/MPAA to make sure this goes thru. We'll have to have a lot of leverage to stop it.
"No upconvert algorithm on the planet can make 480P look as good as 1080P on a 1080P TV. You cannot break the laws of reality. 480P has 20% of the detail of 1080P. No chip can magically add the missing 80% of detail."
Absolutely. There's no arguing the technical aspects of this.
However, very few consumers care. I watched The Diving Bell and the Butterfly (DVD) on my ps3 the other night. It's a beautiful movie and continued to look fabulous upscaled. Most c...
Wow. So much coverage.
On one hand I can't imagine the pressure MM's feeling and I feel a little bad because I know some reviewers are going to use the amount of hype (which they themselves generated) as a reason to massively markdown their reviews when it's not quite as amazing as they hoped (who knows how ridiculous their expectations might be?).
On the other, I can't imagine another semi-debut game getting anywhere near this level of advertising among core gamers....
Oh yes.
And the PS Eye was hyping 3d tracking for a while. Not sure how that's going.
It's like anything else. Picking a mechanic for example, you get advice from friends and that's the first option. But if you don't know anyone who knows a good mechanic then you check past history via BBB (for reviewers this'd be metacritic). If that fails then you take a chance. But once you've been burned you'll probably never use that mechanic again (or trust that reviewer).
I wish there was more honest, open feedback from devs. That's how I find music, screw the reviews, fin...
Sorry, it's trash. Just because I picked on one of your pet bands doesn't make my opinion invalid. I've only, fortunately, suffered thru Nickelback while occasionally while flipping thru the radio or tv or while at a store. They have fans and that's a sad commentary on how people enjoy only what's safe. You can go ahead with ad hominems about Barry Manilow and such but it only negates any logic that might happen to crawl into your post inadvertently.
I've never seen Postal. I don...
Yeah, well, people kept falling asleep mid-stream, so re-dl's were needed.
So what.
Really, maybe he's nice. Maybe Nickelback has several nice guys. That doesn't change that the music/movies are mediocre trash. It's great that it's his dream, but a lot of us would love to be rockstars and just plain don't have the talent... and if you love music, you're not going to put trash out there just because...
I have no problem with the guy. I don't know him. His movies, on the other hand... need to stop. Or he needs to improve, vastly.
Transitions between genres don't work most of the time.
1. Book to Movie = Bad most of the time, worse than the book 95% of the time
2. Comic Book to Movie = Bad most of the time, worse than the comic book 95% of the time (Batman Begins is the only Comicbook movie I can think of that even comes close to the source material)
3. VideoGame to Movie = Bad most of the time, worse than the game 95% of the time
4. Movie to Videogame = Bad most of the time, worse than t...
Just bought a ps3.
The deciding factor was Little Big Planet. Analysts will probably see me as a GTA buyer, but Little Big Planet made the sale.
"Very true. But wouldn't you be tempted, as in theory they will be able to offer huge performance gains for a lower fee than conventional CPU's? "
Sure I would. Anyone would take massive gains for cheaper prices. My question would be, "why, if Nvidia has and has had this huge edge, haven't they used it when they were just three or four times efficient at half the price?"
I'll believe it when I see it and when any generally used mass-market softwar...
I hope Nvidia works harder on their drivers than they did with Vista if they attempt to produce a CPU platform.
So far since the format war ended we have almost zero progress in the area of lower prices on media or players, and no-one's player is selling except Sony's console. Seems like the only winner here is Sony and Movie studios, not consumers and not manufacturers... Now some of the problem is that the manufacturers are being idiots and not competing, but things were sure falling faster when there were two formats. Or, if prices didn't fall, at least you'd get a few movies with your player. Now p...
it'll exist, maybe not soon... but eventually ideas will change the way we sort info and a large corporation of any type has a terrible time adapting to paradigm shifts. Look at MS. They do fine with well established business models (like hardcore gaming, office software) but fail at most every new thing they try. Eventually someone small, flexible and creative will take them by surprise.
The Google corporate structure is almost universally adored, but, believe me, there are some...
Consoles provide a canvas but developers improve gaming.
Devs have, for the most part, decided they'd rather throw out cash-ins for the wii or spend their time on high-res models on the ps3/360. So nothing much has improved this generation.
A few are trying new things, like Media Molecule... but most are too willing to sit complacently and churn out the next shooter.
ok... no excuses. sign.
Sources?
Where are the stats that say that most haters haven't seen any of his movies? Or do we just assume that in the same way that people supposedly suppose that his movies are horrid?
I keep on seeing these apologist posts and they all say the same thing. Try this movie. Try the next one. Wait, I promise the next one after that will be good.
Ok, I've seen two. Bloodrayne and In the Name of the King/Dungeon Siege. Both were bad enough that any second...
