All that's cool, but compatibility with standards is far more important. Without that it we get the same thing as we had with IE, web designers designing for Firefox's quirks at the expense of all other competition. That's a bad world, because it means that someone like firefox can sit on their laurels knowing that they have a false advantage.

Mozilla's upset now because of the timing. They were to late in their development cycle and now they don't want to put the time into it. T...

Yeah, it should also say "Apple MacBook Air Hacked in One Day and 120 seconds."

This was the second day/phase of the challenge, where the hacker had permission to direct a user to their website in order to install a hack. Today they install third-party software and see how it goes.

If there's a hole, there's a hole.

Last year proves your theory wrong. Macs had a far smaller install base and still held out far longer as did linux.

"Yea a cluttered interface full of useless icons everywhere is much better than IE7 or Opera or Safari with its minimal and customizable interface. Lol. Firefox users are noobs."

:p

You should probably avoid downloading it from a Warez site next time.

That Goatse toolbar is not a Mozilla default.

Wow... as per my comments to Bladestar, I never use Firefox if I can help it, but wow... gotta address a bit of that...

So if remotely the same number have IE, does that explain the Anti-Sony bias?

Geez, people are so anxious to be the victims. I bet it's very possible that a large percentage of the firefox users have an xbox, conversely, I bet a large percentage of the IE users have a PS3.

I never use Firefox unless I have to. I don't like many things about the way it works. I feel the same way about IE. Yet I'm very pro-IE8 at the moment. Why? Because I'd rather not have the broke...

"Yeah, FF is the Trailblazer in tabbed browsing."

Opera actually did that first. But it's cool, I don't use Firefox, but I'm all for anyone using an alternative browser that's standards based.

*edit* I love disagrees. Look it up and back up your opinion, otherwise you're just someone who can push a button. You can, of course, continue to do that, but you'd better not call anyone else a sheep for using IE, cause you're just as indoctrinated. Opera is the fi...

I agree with most of what I'm hearing. Though I haven't been displeased with my service lately, there are definitely some big problems.

But... you all might want to note that this is a partnership with Bittorrent Inc. not bittorrent in general. I really doubt this has anything with most of us. It's just a PR move.

Sorry, the channel mostly sucks and has mostly sucked since they bought TechTv and re-branded it as G4/TechTv and then to G4. The content sounded promising, as a game focused network with other related shows could possibly bring in more revenue. But they fired everyone who cared with the exception of the X-play hosts.

Before G4, TechTV was a marvel of the industry, a bunch of people doing what they truly cared about, amazed that they were getting paid. They were largely respons...

This: http://www.n4g.com/industry... is actually a very good read about exactly the same issue you mention, DubC.

The problem is that if both the industry and gamers continue to think this way, they'll be creating the worst kind of self-fulfilling prophecy with companies continuing to chase a Phantom Nintendo that doesn't exist, while the real one has very little to do with casual by definition.

In the lab. They stated that they'll have a tech preview of this functionality in a week or two.

98% on Webkit is now, however. I'm running it on my computer and you can too. So... it'll be owned if it actually happens.

Just like with IE8 beta 1, passing an Acid test means nothing if it crashes half the time.

"Why do you think the PC system requirements for many multi-platform games are so high?"

A lot of background processes/memory resident programs, which is why the SDK prohibits most of those types of applications. A pc is a nightmare for these sort of things, but that's more a Windows paradigm than anything.

Why?

Did you even look at the specs? If so, what exactly puts it far behind the Psp? I'm seriously curious.

Btw... texting on the iphone/emailing on the touch, whatever, it's much faster than a standard handset and 90% as fast as a Blackberry for anyone who actually tries. I type with three fingers most of the time and I expect to be able to far outpace most two thumb users in a few months.

Such strong reactions, it's funny. So here's what the summary says (and there's not a lot else besides specs in the article):

"A spec comparison between iPhone and its new gaming handheld rivals has been published, showing that the Apple device stacks up extremely well in the hardware department when placed side by side with DS and PSP. "

This just addresses the people who said things like "until I see Chains of Olympus type graphics on it, I won't bel...

Somebody's been reading far too much cracked.com

Seriously, find your own format. You're not funny.

Any genre can be broken down this way, if you don't like this or that aspect of a particular genre, play something else. It's sad when people care so much about a genre they don't like.

I will add one more thing though. The idea that Microsoft has to support a vast, vast amount of hardware is somewhat true but also somewhat misleading in justifying bad performance/bugs.

Microsoft does support a fair amount of older hardware out of the box from major manufacturers. But the general outline of this support is vague, if you want advanced features, then you install drivers. So the vendor/oem/manufacturer actually supports this, not microsoft. So stability/integrity i...
