"Really now, if HD-DVD fans want to be an internet pirate then do so but don't blame Blu-Ray for not letting you copy their media."
Again, these two things have nothing to do with each other. Pirating and copying media are not the same things.
"Some people believe that since that the consumer should have total and absolute control over the content they didn't create, which also includes downloading it for free and ripping the content. The fact that the companies spend money to produce their content and expect a ROI means nothing, absolutely nothing(end sarcasm)"
And some people believe that every consumer should have to pay every time they watch a movie, every time a guest comes over to watch a movie, and e...
"If what you mean by "do what you want" mean copy the entire movie on you HDD then probably not, it against the law in the first place, and pardon me, you can't do that on HD-DVD also."
Only against U.S. law, the same law that makes it illegal to watch a dvd if you're using an alternative operating system. It's a bad law that does unfairly limit U.S. consumers.
And yes, a U.S. or international consumer should be able to make his/her own backu...
Unfortunately it's a "first to stake their claim wins" game. Apple already got burned on this with Apple Records UK, and with every cheap manufacturer out there making an iTowel, iBroom, etc. it's no wonder they jump on this before they even have a visible product...
You're right. It'd make you feel better, if you could find one.
The problem would be if you couldn't. Then people get disillusioned and spend their money elsewhere. If they can't supply them now at the current price, then there's no way they could if the price dropped. Especially if more hardcore gamers jumped on like some are saying.
It's an interesting theory, because, if demand drops, Nintendo has to react quickly with a price drop or some other incentive. But un...
You're right. They did have one quarter with a loss in 2004.
Still pretty impressive in comparison. It's been years and years since they've had a bad year...
It's cool. I think people's tone can be taken wrong in these things. I tend to be blunt.
I think implying that people were foolish to buy the wii at it's current price was probably the main thing that would lead us to that conclusion. I'm glad that you do like it, but I'd still debate that statement. :)
Anyway, you do have to take these things into account. So $300 difference? It was $250 difference at the time that I bought my Wii. How much is the base wii price the...
Yeah... it's interesting.
The Xbox division of Microsoft just posted their first profit in 7 years, and Sony (up until very recently) had used up profits for the PS since 1997, all while Nintendo's never had a loss quarter...
The best price drop I could see would be on their controllers...
I never touched your bubble. Shaka's the only person whose post I find offensive here. If there's any type of debate, I'm not going to settle it with bubbles. That's ridiculous.
Value is relative to what the individual expects out of the product. So, if the person loves things like Metroid Prime, SMG, Z&W, etc and you don't, it still doesn't matter. They've made a wise choice based on what they wanted out of the console. I might as well say all 360 owners are idiot purchasers...
"This is the Gamer Zone, but you do have to call a spade a spade. Now, I like the Wii, and I respect the direction that Ninty is going with this, but let's be serious. The Wii is simply an overclocked GameCube with a different controller (actually, about 4 or 5 different controllers) and a really bizarre online setup. "
No, you don't.
First of all, there are several posts in this thread that are extremely trollish, I don't think many would dispute this. ...
Just go buy another gamecube, it's cheaper.
Come on, people who call the thing a GC1.5 aren't going to buy one anyway. Why chase a problem customer when others are lining up/buying rainchecks?
edit: And that effects my statement, how? If I use Microsoft's term for heat-failure of a 360, that's still fan-boyish.
"people like me who weren't fooled in the first place in buying the gamecube 1.5 or it's hype will finally actually consider buying one.&q...
Hmmm... interesting.
I'm not sure exactly why this guy's advocating a drop of Wii Sports. A lot of casuals seem to love the idea that they can bowl right out of the box. Bundling that software doesn't cost Nintendo anything much, and it has a tremendous upside. If anything I'd compromise more with the post above me and suggest bundling SMG or SMBB, while keeping the price the same. This adds tremendous incentive for the more hardcore (though not ultra hardcore) gamer and family ...
I'm very happy with most everything I've seen coming to this game. The levels seem exceptional (plus the ability to make your own), the storyline seems fun, the graphics are a nice upgrade and I love most all of the characters.
I admit, though, I am a little disappointed that Wolf was the last Character added... He looks cool aesthetically, but doesn't excite me from a playability standpoint. Ah well...
Wow... put it at $299, start the LBP beta and do that Sony Credit Card offer and I'll be ownin' a PS3. :p
Seriously though, the first two would more than sell me. :D
"12.3 - I'm no grammar nazi
-but I just wanted to see this again.
"There not scaring consumers"
"no their NOT.""
Ha... They're's something wierd going on hear.
Pffft... there's lots of good software. Maybe not that you're interested in, but plenty for most Wii owners.
You figure most have Wii Play (not very good) and Wii Sports (which is a great game in a group), then Mario, ZElda and Metroid like you mentioned. Then there's Zack and Wiki, Warioware, most families buy MarioParty, Resident Evil IV, the EA football game they released (which a lot of people liked), and that's just games that will appeal to most wii owners/families. There...
I think the Nintendo data is financials for tax/stock filings, if so you can be reasonably sure it's accurate. (at least more than NPD) I'd like a source link though...
Hmmm... I might be spinning.
It's very simple to prove me wrong. Just quote me where he says the Wii is a toy.
I'll even do it for you. This is the infamous quote: "...it is each manufacturer's responsibility to communicate with potential customers, and let them know which of them would make the best use of which function in each console." So manufactures need to tell customers what their product is aimed at.
Next "In that context,...
"You buy a ticket and you have the right to watch the displays in the museum for that specific time printed on your ticket...
I don't recall i could copy or pirate or making one of those exact copies of ART in any museum i've been to....and yes movie is a form of art that requires creativity as well....
jeez.....no one is stopping you from lending your disc to someone else, but make more copies? well...that's a form of stealing...."
But...
