"Nuts magazine (probably with the involvement of Nintendo) have produced a series of Topless Wii videos - a dozen videos"
No indication that N has anything to do with it at all. I doubt Nintendo could gain anything by it. If you follow the money, the ones most likely to benefit are the ones who get hits on their site...
"Wii fit cannot replace going to the gym if you're actually religious about doing so in the first place. Like I said, it's just another fitness gimmick like all the rest advertised on TV. You won't use it past a week if that long."
So... 1. if you're religious about going to the gym or doing wii fit, then the gym is superior. 2. It's a fitness gimmick. 3. People won't use it past the first week.
So, in response to 1, Wiifit is at least 25 times cheaper ...
Ha. One review you disagree with and suddenly Nintendo's corrupt.
If it's true, and I actually think that it probably isn't... then how is that different from any other game company? Let's prove that they're not paying for reviews...
That's the thing. This guy's the type that usually pans reviews to generate hits. He's the guy that everyone likes to dislike. Like Dvorak, his tagline is "all publicity is good publicity."
Lets imagine a scenario. Gerstmann walks into his boss and says, "Look, we've had a great run here, but I'm ready to look for something else. Now, I can either quit, which would just mean you and me both looking for a new writer/job, or we can stir things up and make this a wi...
there was an anime years ago that really used this to good effect... man, my mind just won't bring it up.
Anyway, since then it's been game after game that uses this precise look, like you said, to portray a faceless, cold, stormtrooper-type evil.
That's bull.
HD-DVD does have an advantage in this area. The name is EASILY associated with the slightest PR push. If there is confusion it's their fault for shoddy consumer education... So if HDA fails it's their own fault, not a bad naming choice. Man, how childish is that assertion? The br drive has hurt the PS3 in the short-term but has boosted the BR side significantly in the longterm, even if just in marketing numbers (as we aren't really sure how many use the ps3 for mov...
Well done. :p
I particularly enjoyed the 0/100 comment. Drake of the 99 Dragons will be thrilled to leave the basement. :p
edit: Ha!!! How in the world did you get a disagree? Sometimes people just amaze me. Errr... maybe they want the #1 WiiFit hater title?
Fight for it, man. Post away.
Tell people how the WiiFit mat is supported by tiny kittens that are smashed and replaced each time you shift your weight... how the wii magically m...
*Starts the popcorn popping...*
It'll be interesting to see a few more reviews.
I really do think it has to be judged on what it tries to do. For the reviewer, he seemed to feel that it provided a good experience for him. Though I'm sure many will pick up the comment about closing the blinds and it'll become as big a cliché as talking about how you look like an idiot with a wiimote.
I'll reserve my judgment til I see a bit more (like most people on this site say about reviews they happe...
Indeed...
'Course it is.
The rest would see the light too... if the cows were aliens with prehensile tails and tentacle guns... and the Barbie was a anime-influenced femme-fatale with uber-blade exploding sex pheromones/shotgun wristbands... and the milking was... TOTAL ANNIHILATION!!!!
But they're just blinded by convention.
Geez...
Agreed, great games.
Who has time to compare with all that in your queue?
Whatever... :(
Kate and Ashley's Fab Shopping Epic rules all.
edit: Btw, I didn't push disagree. I'm not quite that silly.
Hard to say. Galaxy could still be selling frantically compared to most titles, but it's not really fair to line it up against game sales for 6 platforms or even two platforms, is it? The only games that are beating it by any reasonable standard (given the info in this poll) are the BrainAge stuff and Mario/Sonic (which seems to be tearing it up in japan, don't know why... but I haven't played it).
Without real sales numbers we just don't know.
Of course it can exist.
It simply means no more or no less than any other year. Play what you like. GOTY for you doesn't have to be GOTY for anyone else. Be content (even if it is Barbie's Magical Cowmilking Farm and Hair Salon Extreme).
True.
Multi-hardware formats are impressive as well. With Sony gaming hardware selling 440k in a week and Nintendo hardware selling 840k, both companies are winning in every way that matters outside the fanboy flames.
I wish people would realize that sometimes doing everything to win something like this effectively kills you. Like the old quote that, if we win too many battles like this, we'll be finished.
"id love to have 50-100meg but only if its at a reasonable price."
50meg is, FIOS and U-verse are both as reasonable as most cable companies and provide an even nicer tv experience. I wish they'd expand to include my apartment complex. Comcast is so awful that I'm foregoing tv completely rather than to sign up with them. So, as a result, I have a phone line I don't care to use (At&t) but it's the lesser of two evils.
Ummm... you do know that the majority of these sales are in Tokyo, right?
Try going out in the street there and jogging and see how far you get.
Even outside of Tokyo, Japan's population density and real estate shortage make outdoor fitness very difficult. Then there's winter...
Seriously, the whole "go outside" thing is a nice line to espouse hatred for wii fit, but it really doesn't hold up this time of year or in Japan.
"Maybe I have no idea what I'm talking about, but wouldn't it be only natural that the Wii would have the most exclusives?"
Well said. I love the Wii, but this is a result of function following form, not some Coup. So this is more of a natural exclusivity based on the Wii's hardware rather than a market exclusivity (based on pure negotiations/competition).
Now competition and negotiations are involved, as are profitability estimates, but it's apples to...
I don't mind that at all.
I think of most shooters as boring little cds/dvds that spin around. I don't see any appeal to it at all.
Opinions are welcome. Nintendo fans in general are not the ones who are mad about a reviewer's opinion. All we're saying is that everyone, including you, have different tastes. Just because I say I like Finnish Mythology and Medieval Rule of Four literature that others find boring doesn't mean I'm a sheep or that I've been paid to li...
