Well, there's not that much motivation for it.

I mean, some will hack a console just for ROM's sake, but most mod/hack them to either run region locked disks or run things like linux. Both of those are possible out of the box with a PS3. So, while there's still interest in hacking br and other things, I'm not interested in any of it. Region locking has been my primary temptation where hacks are concerned (I also thought about linux on the PS2, but with the tiny memory and bad imp...

meh... I reply too quickly sometimes.

I apologize. I agree with most all of what you say. It was more a problem of emphasis. I find myself very troubled by commercialization of christianity.

I didn't realize how bad it was until I walked into a christian book store after a year absence. It seems like every single product is targeted to sell. They're always a year or five behind most advertising concepts but they're ridiculously calculated. When I saw it all I wanted ...

I disagree, and I hope this comes off as honest and well-meaning disagreement.

I agree that hypocrisy is unavoidable, but that doesn't mean we should promote it. Our acts as groups shouldn't imply double-mindedness.

There are just things I would never do in a church or at a time when I was in spiritually focused class/study. Some of these things may be fine in other contexts. I don't believe that violent games are appropriate, but if it is, then it's wrong where it's...

Fear and hope are used in many ways, mostly paired. This is not limited to religious teaching.

Everything from Sex Education (of all types, not just abstinence based) to Medical Advice to Environmentalism uses them. I'm not sure why anyone would expect religion to be different or lambast it for that.

Only if luring them in via sex is ok too.

Every belief system, religious or atheistic... magic or scientific, is based on accepting assumptions. These can never be proven.

The more you realize that your own belief system comes from these assumptions, the less likely you'll be to judge other belief systems.

Ha. I kinda raised my eyebrows.

It's a delicate subject. I mean, if someone needs to access their bank website... sometimes they've gotta use IE. My bank is not so ridiculous, thankfully. The only place I have problems is inside some government sites. If it weren't for that I'd never have to use IE. I hope things will change.

meh... gotta do something like this every once in a while to stir up the pot.

You get the Game lobby scared and they donate some money, then the anti-game group donates more, ad infinitum. It's a great fundraiser with no golf tourney needed.

I agree with a lot of your review but I would like to comment on a couple of things, specifically:

"IE8- easily the best way to view any kind of webpage the way it was meant to be seen."

"FF3 beta4- still has problems viewing certain websites (not showing certain html coding from 3rd party sites, etc)"

I'd tend to disagree with these two points. Will Firefox have trouble with some html pages? Yes. Will IE display the same page easily...

I've used all of them except IE8 for a while now. But I honestly think IE8's far to Alpha to compare to the others, so...

It really depends on your browsing habits. Safari's is, by far, the most lightweight. That's refreshing in light of Firefox and IE in particular. It's a great browser when browsing is what you want to do. I only use something like Firefox when I'm developing for the web, since the development plugins are fab. Safari's also the fastest of the bunch. It's weakne...

Yep, they got rejected from the early beta, which was stated to be very limited numbers for early testing. They have not been rejected in terms of creating future apps.

Hopefully they drop the touch steering wheel and go with tilt steering before release. The wheel takes up a third of the screen and while not hard to control, tilt would be easier. Widescreen would also be available with this change.

"This Apple Company are ripping people with their awesome high price tag on games (e.g. $5 for each sh*t game) and they even stated ipod touch users have to pay for each game download from itunes, for iphone user you can get it for free"

So much mis-information here that I don't even know where to start.

There's no set price for any game. The "sh*t" games, as you said might charge nothing, or they might charge $100. Regardless, the good thing is t...

Well, the iphone and touch will have skype too soon. Plus the both the hacker and development community look very strong.

What money? $100? That's hilarious. So... a programmer should follow your advice and not waste any of his time or money ($100) cause it's going to flop. There's no downside. If you waste your time I guess that's bad but money? If there's any chance of any game being a hit. Lets say you have a $10 game and 100 people download it (a tiny, tiny percentage of the ...

Also the new software allows Admins to completely lock down the phone to business related apps.

"First off, who's this 'we' you're referring to?"

People who pan a platform before there's any indication of how good it will be.

"Because quite frankly, I don't think many people outside the US own an iPhone. So right off the bat, it's quite the limited market. Second, since iPhones outside the US are hacked, it's very likely that any new update will probably null and void gaming opportunities on those hacked phones. That puts gaming to those iTouches...

"No... The EA/Apple relationship is one similar to that of the normal guy (EA) having to hang out with the rich snotty kid (Apple) and having to put up with his boasts and crap because their moms are old friends."

Who cares if it's EA or Ubisoft? Insert game company here. So far, in less than 24 hours we have EA, Team17, Sega, and John Carmack from id software all expressing extreme enthusiasm about the SDK. Most game companies/publishers haven't even had a chance to co...

"Funny the iPhone can do some games, but I don't see a God of War like the PSP one playing on it as good as it does on the PSP"

I agree. I also don't think that Phantom Hourglass would play on the PSP as well as on the DS. I doubt most of the iphone exclusive games will play at all on the PSP, though they might on the DS with a motion adapter.

So, I guess that means that sometimes games on a platform are developed for the hardware on that platform. Competit...

Well, it'll be interesting. I don't think the goal is to beat/destroy Sony or Nintendo. But the strength for Apple will be that business/non-game apps plus the games will make people consider a Touch ($229 refurb) that wouldn't ever consider a DS. That's why Nintendo is working hardcore to develop non-game apps... to break that barrier.

I think it will do well because of the incentive to developers. Think about it.

If EA wants to develop for the PSP, it has to pay $2...
