I don't agree with this article. It WILL sell systems. I don't reserve games because I know I can usually find a copy at Walmart or Best Buy. This game however is the first one that I'm considering pre-ordering because I don't know if I'm going to be able to just walk in and find easily. I'm expecting this game to sell very very well.
I would put Ninja Gaiden and Ghost N Goblins ahead of Contra. I could beat that game with one or two men. I could never beat NG or GNG. I did beat NG2 though which was almost as hard as the first.
That's why I think that if you're going to pay attention to a review look at the reviews from smaller websites. The big corporate ones are just that, corporate. They are there to make money and they are going to give more favorable reviews to the companies that are going to help them make money.

It's Uncharted for me then AC and maybe UT3 if it comes out before Christmas. I have 11 days off at the end of the year so i got plenty of time to play. I just wish I had a new RPG to play.
I really want AC but I think I'm going to wait and get Uncharted first. I still haven't beaten R&C though. Too many games at once. I still have Folklore and Eye of Judgement on my list. Not to mention UT3 may be out next month and Haze. It's just too much.
I wanted to play it at first but now I don't really care. I got caught up in the hype like everyone else. I don't have a 360 and my video card is not up to date so I didn't get a chance to play it right away. When UT3 comes out for the PS3 that will be enough FPS for me for a long time.
While his argument about reselling houses and cars is valid there is one flaw. Manufacturers don't have to sell 500,000 cars or houses to make a profit like game companies do. They make profit off of each item sold. Games companies must sell a certain number of copies to make a profit and if retailers are selling used instead of new then it makes it harder to reach that magic number
Everyone knows that the Spike TV VGA is a joke. How can you have Mass Effect and not have COD4? And what about Mario Galaxy and GOW2?It seems like they don't really know what they are doing and just picking the most popular games right now or the show is sponsored.
While I agree this is unfortunate, how hard is it to check every couple of weeks to see if your unit has dust and then clean it. It's like people have never taken care of electronics. You paid a lot of money for your PS3 so take the time to clean it.

Some of you guys are idiots. This article was posted to discuss an issue that may need to be fixed. If anyone who has an older HDTV would let people know maybe it could get fixed. I'm sure that he's commenting on the fact that the 360's core demographic is FPS fans. The PS3 has great games coming from all genres. It has much more variety. R&C, Uncharted, EOJ, ect..
Anyway, back to the article. The guy could be right but I've heard too many developers saying the opposite. He also said that there is more power in the PS3 it's just harder to untap. The point is that the power is there for anyone whose willing to take the time to unlock it.
I couldn't keep the damn car on the road. That's the worst handling I've experience on a racing game. I kept totaling out the car. It became uncontrollable after 140 mph and that's on the straight part of the road.

I know, I keep hearing that same comment "nothing new" but from all accounts Halo 3 is the same as the last 2 versions. But it's up for game of the year? WTF? 87% is great though and I'm getting it for the PS3.
