Maybe Nintendo should come to the rescue
The WiiU is just getting started. 2 months vs 6-7 years is no contest
PS4 and Nextbox will have to have top of the line power, or else the whole "WiiU is not next-gen" argument will be dead. We're talking about HD vs non-HD difference, not PS3 vs 360 difference.
Watch EA not even try to create an IP for the WiiU that maximizes hardware, which is where the problem lies.
I'm saving this article for when the "Next-gen" is revealed. Should be interesting to compare then to now
No diss on the Vita, but I'd much rather have the PC NA release date
A year is longer than 5 months (from WiiU launch in November to March 31st). Remember last Summer when Nintendo predicted a huge loss from declining Wii sales and a poor 3DS start? There's your answer
You could tell he was prepared. They honestly could not have done a much better choice of a representative
I've had a small sense of respect for Sessler for awhile now. That sense grew today and I'm glad I took the time to listen
...from 3rd parties. Because we all know Nintendo will deliver
“The Wii U is not going to be very competitive if Sony and Microsoft launch comparable consoles at comparable prices,”
-Pachter
Really? If Sony and MS realease almost identical specs at the same price WiiU will lose? Actually that is exactly how Nintendo will win. There will be limited incentive NOT to make a game for WiiU if there won't be noticeable difference in visuals or substance.
Don't like the gamepad? Cater to Controller Pro. Conventi...
Shouldn't be too surprising. Wii launched at a cheaper price, in a stronger economy, motion control was novel and simple. Don't forget it had a new Zelda on release and Wii Sports out of the box, and who could say no to party games (at the time)?
Also the marketing for Wii was pretty extensive, the "Wii would like the play" adverts were made to hype you up, I haven't seen a single WiiU advert on T.V. yet (only store ads). Tbh a lot of people probably h...
It's a great game that didn't get the love it deserved. The initial screens of the remake look amazing, and if you go back there were times the visuals got fuzzy, or colors dull. OoT for 3DS sold about 2.7 million worldwide in a year (for a 2nd remake of the original as well), Nintendo is probably looking for a similar success story. Nintendo Direct gave the notion that Zelda will be changed significantly, think of this as the farewell voyage.

StarFox X PilotWings is where it's at
I'm actually hoping it's not a major Nintendo IP (though a mature, N64/SNES style StarFox would be an amazing undertaking for them), just to see how they do without a major IP their back. Nonetheless it should be amazing (given their track record with Metroid, Donkey Kong)
Retro, Monolith, and Platinum are looking to be WiiU's Triforce if you will. I'm sure they will deliver
Why couldn't they have an easy difficulty like in DS1? Where you could run Plasma Cutter and not even care about strategic dismemberment because it was faster and easier to just blast away
Back in my day we had Cheat Codes
I definitely got a GTA vibe from the initial reveal (Grand Theft Lego :p). It will be interesting to see how it plays out (It has Nintendo backing, so it should be pretty substantial).
Certainly one for the younger players
WiiU users could very well use Miiverse as a form of custom Achievements (though it would need a few updates). Give players the use of screenshots and recording software on the system, suddenly players film themselves doing difficult actions in games, upload those videos and descriptions, then challenge others to complete those challenges (video is of gameplay, not of webcam for various reasons). Players could then assign points (based on difficulty) to those challenges that players test and ...
Ganon's Theme would be pretty cool. Get some Opera vocals in there.
While overall quality may have decreased, if you remove outliers I would say games are just as good as thay always have been, and in some cases better. All depends where you look and what you deem to be "better"
It's been out for a little over 2 months. Nintendo just showcased a firm commitment from their side (maybe not perfect, but we were shown a wide array of upcoming games, collaborations, and features to look out for from the Big N)
Support from Indie developers has been strong. And then we have Miiverse, TVii, eShop, all solid and popular features.
If "X" (Monolith), Bayonetta 2, Rayman Legends, and Pikmin 3 aren't good incentives to inve...
If Nintendo doesn't release an extensive Ad campaign for the WiiU soon they will be in a world of hurt. Remember the Ad campaign for the Wii? Something on that scale.
They can't wait for the competition to catch up before winning the consumer, they need to act now (and Target newspaper ads don't count)
