Speaking of game length to quality, RE4 was perfect for me in both regards. To this day it takes me 15-20 hours to beat it (after beating it at least 7-8 times already), yet I still enjoy it without feeling like I waste too much time, without the game becoming stale. Good balance of action to strategy, and I still get freaked out by the sewers and Regenerators

Hopefully MGR:R has a good amount of quality relative to quantity. I have high hopes for this developer

Who has overrated it? The most I've heard is that it has sold better than the Vita, which isn't too surprising

Nintendo needs their Halo and Gears, their Killzone and God of War, something to cater to the action/blood/aggression hungry crowd that has emerged over the last decade and made MS and Sony so successful. They need that exclusive title where action, death, and realism (and I use that term lightly) is the name of the game

They aren't going to win many new people over with Mario, Zelda, or Metroid (despite how well-made and still wanted those series are)

It...

I've been trying to use a 360 to WiiU comparison (both 3 million at the same time), exclusive/early release of Rayman Legends, and Nintendo Direct as ammo, but these have tired out (or been strucken down) by now.

One thing Nintendo desperately needs is a hardcore first party title. And no I'm not talking about Zelda or Metroid, but a M rated exclusive tailor-made for the WiiU, something to catch the "mature", adult audience. They need something along the li...

I have to say this was the first time I've seen the Eye needle part from DS 2. And the fact you can screw up and kill yourself was pretty hilarious. Was not disappointed

At the very least Ubisoft could've released it as planned, THEN made a deal to make it multiplat. MS can't recall a bunch of games that are already out and sold.

Probably simpler on paper than in real life.

I feel like MS will be in the worst position Next-gen. Both PS4 and Nextbox will be competitive in price, but PS4 will have the better strength, and if recent history had shown, better exclusives. For your competitive, hardcore system PS4 will fit better if it's how I predict. We will most likely see Kinect and multimedia a big part of MS, where PS4 will be about power, free internet services, and some other goodies

Meanwhile, Nintendo will be there for your 1st party e...

There is always a price to pay for early adoption. 360 was plagued with RRoD and a good rate of system deaths early on, Blu-ray was very expensive at release, PLasma/LED TV's reduce in price every year at the same and larger sizes.

If you want to compare it to 3DS, it got a significant price cut, not added features. Also why would this "drive away fans"? The concern should be not getting games, not whether someone got a better deal. And let's be honest, t...

"We usually release all of our platforms simultaneously (aside from PC). We've made special exception sometimes in the past but it's definitely just on a case by case basis and not our standard practice."

I guess the WiiU wasn't special enough. Sad when just 8 months ago they were praising the WiiU for it's innovation and promised a firm commitment. Just a big lie now

Nintendo could always sell rights for release on other consoles, it would depend if MS/Sony would buy in

Edit: So there are retailers and console makers who won't sell a game if it doesn't have ESRB rating. Nevertheless, the ratings exist for a reason. And no, "M" doesn't stand for "Mild"

I agree completely. It was Ubisoft who made the decision to have it on three consoles instead of most likely two. MS said take it or leave it and they decided to take it. They put money over integrity with this. From a business standpoint it makes some sense (why release it around GTA/Nintendo 1st party again?), but from a moral point it is disgusting

Ubisoft is just reinforcing MS's policy. If every developer just said "fine we won't release it on 360" th...

I just awoke from a dream. And in that dream Ubisoft gave MS the finger and decided to release the WiiU version as previously planned, even if a 360 version was never made.

Sadly it was but just a dream

Retailers want to make money, also the ESRB and such isn't required to sell a game. In fact publishers pay them to get a rating, to prevent this kind of backlash. If parents paid more attention to what their kids were playing (like actually playing the game themselves) maybe there would be better control and supervision. I'm not saying it's 100% the parent's fault (it's like blaming parents solely for poor children health when so much of our food is overloaded by the food ...

Another reason why the PS4 should have Back Compatability. It will drive the install base and provide a better window of entry. Though it might not be good if the PS3 remains too strong (seeing how cheap it is becoming)

"Hey Nintendo fans, we knew how much you were looking for this game at the WiiU's release, and how disappointed but understanding you were when we had to delay it to February, buuuut we're gonna release it in September to mtch the other consoles. Hope you understand".

Just a downright tasteless move. At the very least it hurts their image, at least to me

Then you realize there are a bunch of 1v1 stage fighters out there. I love the fighting system in Smash, it's really in a league of its own and a unique experience. Obviously Superbot tried to match that spirit, though the Sony fanbase might not be that kind of crowd. The future should be interesting, I see nothing wrong with imitation, Smash will always be special to me and other Nintendo players

I only played it once, but other than having a bunch of 1st party and special guest characters, and the fact it's part platforming you can't really compare them. I found SSB to be a little simpler and easier to understand from the get-go, picking up Smash you have better clues as to how you are doing and has easier to use controls, while in All-stars I couldn't quite figure how to win from picking it up

Obviously if I played it more I would understand All-Stars ...

Personally I am in no rush to buy a WiiU atm. I will someday, but I have a lot of games to go through in the meantime. Like many I'm waiting for a major IP to come out for it, either Metroid or "X". Since Rayman is out of the question, you basically get Pikmin 3 or The Wonderful 100 as important exclusive titles before Fall (no diss to Lego City Undercover). Who knows, maybe there will be a special bundle later in the year (maybe even Rayman).

All I know is t...
