Obviously there wouldn't be major physical changes, because they already did that with Vista. If they did that again with Windows 7 it would get a backlash like Vista did. Now that some people are finally getting used to Vista's interface, it will be easier for them to move over to Windows 7. Microsoft knows this, they played it smart this time.
DirectX 11 is going to be awesome though, and the improvements they did to Windows 7 have made it as fast as XP. It's quite great now.

Computer data is in no way like physical objects. Of course you don't steal a porche or food. Because that would mean LOSS FOR SOMEONE ELSE. You are actually taking something from someone.
But when it comes to data, it is not loss for someone else, because you have not taken anything from them.
The Xbox 360's GPU is about as slow as a 8600 GTX. The console is mostly reliant on it's CPU instead. Which has 3 cores and hyper-threading which brings it up to 6 virtual cores.

The only reason I don't like Vista is because it is so different from XP.
Did I ever want XP's layout to be changed? No, and I'm sure tons of other people feel the same way. They changed it around completely in Vista, instead of just improving on what everyone was already used to and liked.

Vista is the rushed out form of Windows 7. Windows 7 is completely stable already in it's beta form, and runs as fast as a new install of XP even.

The only real thing holding me back is all the useless reworking of the file system/layout. XP's is the peak of efficiency, they went and tried to fix something that wasn't broken, and that pisses me off. It's not an improvement, just a change -_-.

@rsebes: It is not Vista with a different name. It has quite a large amount of improvements and optimizations. It's shaping up to be a great OS.
(Although, I'm going to apply a Windows XP skin to it when I start using Windows 7 lol. I couldn't care less for that Mac style crap all over.)

Windows 7 is a lot better optimized for multiple cores than Vista. And is also a lot less resource heavy, better optimized. It will also be coming with DirectX 11.
Vista was good, just not good enough. Windows 7 will be the "good enough". I will be upgrading to it, and just applying a Windows XP skin, as I see no point for all the extra crap they have thrown into the OS to make it more Mac like.
(p.s, You can get a Windows 7 beta off of torrent sites already,...
It's been great so far. The Windows 7 beta already has beta ATI and Nvidia drivers for it. They download when you use the updated feature in Windows 7.
All my other hardware drivers hav worked also. (Printer, Scanner, sound card, network card, dvd-rw burner.)
