Windows 7 boots and opens Firefox in 19 seconds for me. So this video is hardly a big deal. And my PC is cheap.
Great video. It's good for people to learn things like this. And save a bundle of cash :). Plus the reward of knowing you put it together yourself.
Nope, light is light. It is intensity that matters. And this kind of technology wouldn't be beaming harmful intensities of light into your eyes. (And wavelength matters also, but that's not a factor in display technology.)
I didn't say it was ok for other companies to do it.
And clothes are a whole different issue when it comes to this. Because a common person can usually tell if something looks well made. Also when it comes to clothing, brand is a big factor just because that's how society is.
Yes, it's safe. The site doesn't execute any code on your system to test this. Each image is hotlinked from a certain website. If some of those hotlinks are blocked then you probably have conficker.
Indeed. This is one of the reason USA is in such a recession. Americans bent over to long and let corporations do whatever the hell they want, because it's "capitalism" and "patriotic" lol.
People wouldn't expect to buy food at such a huge markup, why should anything else be different.
No, because Apple is taking advantage of peoples lack of knowledge in this subject. That's why articles like this need to be given exposure.
Of course every company tries to make profit so they can keep making products. What's being talked about here is massive gains on each product though.
No, it is profiteering because they are taking advantage of peoples lack of knowledge in technology. People assume that it's some advanced technology and that they are getting what they paid for. Apple puts a nice design around their technology and makes it look like something fancy and expensive.
Mmmmm, just like Prada bags. Paying a huge "designer" tax for the brand name.
When it comes to technology people should be putting hardware before brand name.
@EXCLUSIVEGAMER: Wrong, there are things that are impossible. For example, can you jump to the moon right now? No? Didn't think so.
Over time we have come to understand more an more about matter and physics. We smash particles at near the speed of light to see what they are made of. When you get down to the very core of what makes up everything, it's energy. Our understanding is good enough to start claiming what is most likely impossible. We KNOW it's impossible to keep shrinking t...
Nobody thought we could keep making chips smaller forever. So no one is surprised lol. Obviously we can only make the chips as small as the atomic structure would allow. 22nm has already been done. And 16 and 11nm are on the way. Although from 16 down, chip makers will be facing problems of quantum tunneling. And will need to move onto new materials, such as graphite. Once we max out chip size, which would be a chip who's gates are only 1 or 2 atoms thick. We will have to move onto new techno...
Most people didn't buy Vista because they knew Windows 7 was coming and just decided to wait it out. People will be buying or pirating Win 7 to either A.) Escape the clutches of Vista. B.) Finally move on from XP, and onto DirectX11 gaming also!
No, it just means it's for extremely casual users. Such as mothers and old people. Who don't really use their computer for much either than surfing the net and doing the odd thing.
Indeed. This site is mainly filled with gamers who only know the information other fanboy gamers pass around, not really interested in tech enough to know the facts.
Obama should direct some of that stimulus money towards a plan like this.. lol. (I'm not serious <_<. Would rather it be put towards green technology like wind power.)
This is Fox were talking about. Common sense has never existed in their news division.
I wouldn't say dumb... Just unaware. Microsoft's market is largely Mom's, old people and then stupid people. lol
Mbps = Megabits per second.
MB/s = Megabytes per second.
Win 7 boots & opens Firefox in 19 seconds for me. So this video isn't impressive at all, especially for an OS that's supposed to be super lightweight.
If I had a better computer and and SSD also, I bet it would take somewhere around 8-11 seconds.
