Sell the 9800GTX and step it up to a GTX 280 or 260. Sli bad idea of those 2 choices.
Ah yes you got me there :P.
Totally forgot about that.
Well.. Think of it this way.. The 8800 cards and the 9800 cards use the same core. The G92 core.
So the performance between them can only be so much, since it's always the same core. It's just minor tweaks to said core and board design that help improve performance.
If you already have an 8800 anything, I wouldn't suggest upgrading to a 9800 anything. If you have the money, wait for the price to drop some more on the GTX 260 or 280.
Or sell your 8800 and buy a 98...
Yeah, that's because Nvidia has been slow on it's transition to 55nm. All over Nvidia's card so far in the past year have been 65nm. While most of ATI's have been 55nm. Which runs a lot cooler and allowing for higher clock speeds.
But now that Nvidia is finally switching to 55nm, they are going to gain back the ground they lost on the whole heat issue.
9800GTX+ ftw, GTX280+ is gonna be even better tho.. Cause it won't be so hot and a lot better clock :P. Can't wait.
Well that's 6 months ago...
Which means, you payed $8.5 a month, as a fee to have it 6 month's earlier, instead of now :).
Which I think is ok, It's like paying for the privilege of a high speed connection ;). You don't NEED IT, but it's nice to have :P.
@Fanboi:
Actually, Nvidia is expected to "master" the GT200 cores at the beginning of 2009. With an expected release of 55nm versions.
But I would actually guess they might manage to get 55nm versions out this year. Since they have successfully created 55nm version of the G92 core. With some card manufacturers already having finished putting together their 55nm product versions. So they will feel safer moving to 55nm.
Only time will tell. But t...
You keep telling yourself that :)
Well firstly.. Where did you get $600 from? Maybe a 8800Ultra when they came out..
Secondly, Nvidia charges high when they first released a card because they are in the lead for performance. So people pay to have the best. (which sucks, yeah I know.)
Lastly, Nvidia is dropping the prices on these as much as they can, because their GeForce 9800GTX+ cards are coming out in a few weeks. So they need to hurry up and get rid of all these old 65nm versions.
In Firefox... All you have to do is. File>Save Page As.
And it downloads the page and most of it's contents. Allowing you to view it offline later :).
Think that features been around since FF1. For sure since FF2.
Naw Bob.. SLI isn't a good idea if your looking for price/performance.
SLI is something you do if you have the money for 2 or 3 of the best cards lol.
@Millah: Go for a 9800GTX+, or wait for the GTX 260 or 280 price to drop. Yes, the GTX 260/280 are a replacement for the 9800GTX. There also the replacements for the 9800GX2.. lol that's how powerful the GTX 280 is.. Better than a GX2.
Well the story says up to a 15% performance increase over the 9800GTX...
So I'd say a realistic 13-19% more performance over an 8800GTX.
This person seems to have forgotten about the GTX 280 and 260..
And this is all information that's already been posted over and over again <_<..
@Silver360: EXACTLY! Mac's aren't super secure systems as many will claim.
Mac's just aren't owned by the majority, so they aren't a primary target. Most hackers prefer using Windows and attacking Windows OS's since there owned by the majority of computer owners.
How many of these AwesomeBar Tweak stories are we going to have? There's already been a few. And they all pretty much listed the same basic stuff.
If you want most of the old functionality of the Firefox 2 location bar back, then use this add-on.

Enjoy :)
How is trying to bring new technology out desperate?
55nm for Nvidia has been long overdue. If anything they're being lazy lol.
"2010, The year when sex with holograms is made possible"
They are. Last I read it was coming out in Early 2009 tho...
But I'd think it would be sooner since they've already got a working G92 die shrink.
And then within a week, a modified version of the game will be found on torrent sites that has the security measure removed by crackers.
So pointless. It only hurts their sales and wastes money on paying for the security.
Well, did you try the add-on I posted?
It's pretty close to FF2's. Except it also searches a websites description still =/. But it's not to much of a crutch overall.
@GIJeff: Don't give advise of which you know little about.
