How exactly did EA get a patent for something Blizzard and alot of MMOs have been doing for atleast a decade?
I have new questions.
Looking forward to D2:R much more.
D4 looks good on the surface, but after the recent change to Etched Sigil on D3, i simply cannot trust Blizzard anymore. Making small changes for balance is one thing, but completely changing the core function of a very popular piece of equipment, completely breaking atleast a dozen different builds in the process, is totally unacceptable.
With D2:R, we already know ~98% of what we are getting with it. Major changes like...
95% of D2 fans will strongly disagree with that. Shared loot creates rarity/scarcity. Giving everyone their own loot would lead to substantially higher numbers of rare items in circlulation, and would break the trade system.
Cemu, like almost every emulator, is CPU bound. My 750ti was enough to beat BotW at 1080p/30 with greatly enhanced textures and shaders.
Even with the discount, i wouldn't buy anything from EGS. Rather pay the extra 15% to get it on Steam or GOG.
If you are in to very linear games. It seems like the game is going to take place almost entirely in a large dungeon under Hyrule Castle. The overworld likely won't be back.
It is a mod for emulation. Nintendo cannot do anything. There are already similar mods for various other games, including Pokemon Sword/Shield, & Lets Go, BotW, Xenoblade, etc. They have been available for a couple years without issue.
Most emulators are CPU bound, unless running in Vulkan. I ran it as stated above, with a Ryzen 7 3700x and a 750ti (still trying to find a 3060ti at MSRP)
Already beat Pokemon Sword and both DLC packs on Yuzu. Patched to always at 1080p (it normally runs at 720p in the wilds), and with enhanced textures/shaders. Rock solid 30fps throughout, with the exception of that one forest in the northern part of the main game which lagged a bit for some reason.
Never could get into this game. Combat is fun, but it is very repetitive. Only like 5 unique maps and 10 unique enemies that just get recycled over and over. The interface and menus are also extremely messy and unintuitive. Took me a couple hours to figure out how to do really basic menu related things when i first started, then i quit for about a week, when i came back i had forgotten almost everything and had to spend another couple hours relearning everything.
@phoenixwing:
Only 9 out of every 10. Until the 10th gets fired for standing up to, or ratting out one of the corrupt ones, then it is 9 out of every 9. The "blue blood" brotherhood bs eventually makes them all corrupt, even if they start out with a few good ones.
When the known bad ones are never legally accountable for their crimes, that shows that the underlying system itself is corrupt. Good people cannot operate long term in a fundementally...
I just want GTAV campaign DLC.
@utopiancat:
Provide an example of this mythical processor that can be optimized for a specific encoder. It does not exist. It cannot exist.
The SX's 2:1 ratio is already fully realized, and usable by 3rd party devs right now. the 3:1 ratio mentioned for Oodle+Kraken is not, and likely never will be. It is currently only optimized to achieve 1.6:1, with Oodles devs working to further enhance it to 2:1, as stated in the article.
Yes,...
Ironburg Inventions is a subsidiary of Corsair, which also owns Scuf. Hardly a patent troll when they have had the design on the market for many years.
@utopiancat:
I didn't ignore anything. You seem to misunderstand how independent processing works. The hardware decompression block is simply a dedicated processing unit that is assigned to decompression through whatever software requests it. Oodle and BCPack are just software instruction sets for encoding the data before it is sent to the decompression block. Sony does not have any magic hardware that makes Oodle work any differently from how it would work on the SX. I...
@utopiancat:
Official statement from Oodle dev in comment section of your link.
"Oodle Texture works great for the Xbox as well, and we are working with a lot of game companies that are using it on Xbox, so consumers should see lots of games with those huge size and speed savings on Xbox as well. It's up to the individual game developers, as it's not been licensed platform-wide at this time."
The SX also has a dedicate...
@r2oB:
I forgot to mention it, but i was actually already factoring it in. The PS5s overall compression is around 1.6x, the SX overall is 2x. SSD compressed thoughput directly correlates to compression volume. 5.5GB/s > 9GB/s = ~64%. 2.4GB/s > 4.8GB/s = 100%
Looks like another Lets Go style spinoff. No combat, just direct catching.
Talking about in regards to catching, obviously.
