30fps is the MINIMUM target. Games have consistantly exceeded 30fps in testing.
They are not talking about performance. This is about Proton. They are saying that they have 100% compatibility of Steam games on Linux/SteamOS.
Stupid comparison to begin with. Beyond the general shape, they are completely different types of devices. One is a handheld console, the other is a handheld Linux PC. They cater to completely different markets.

The Steam Deck is also a much more expensive (for the higher end model) and much more niche product than the PS5 or SeriesX. It is a handheld Linux PC, not a console. It was not open to everyone on day 1, due to anti scalping measures, and this was all while Steams servers were fubar due to so many people trying to buy at once.
100k in 2 hours for a product like this, under those conditions, is actually quite good.
2TF RDNA2 is equal to ~3.35TF GCN, vs 1.8TF GCN for the base PS4, and 1.2TF for the Xbox One. The Steam Deck also has double the Ram of those consoles, and vastly higher memory bandwidth, not to mention NVMe SSDs.
As for the resolution, it is all about the pixel density. 720p on a 7" display is 210 PPI. 1440p 27" is 109 PPI, 4k 30" is 147 PPI.

Yuzu does not require much. My current PC (R7 3700x, 750ti) runs Pokemon Sword modded @ locked 1080p, with enhanced texture and shader packs, and gets a rock solid 30fps through 99% of the game.
720p, without any enhancement mods, the Deck should be able to handle most of the better optimized games without issue.

Go back and check your estimated date for purchase though. I got mine a little over 2 hours after it went up, and it currently has my estimated date for purchase as Q2 2022. The longer it took to reserve, the longer it will be before you are able to purchase one.
Edit: So it is finally over. Got the payment through. Over 2 hours fighting this b!tch. 512GB reserved.
Finally got mine "reserved" after initially getting blocked for too many attempts, but their servers were unable to complete the payment. Got an email giving me 72 hours to try getting the payment through.

To be fair with GTAIV, it was a very CPU bound game, released at a time when the vast majority of PC gamers still believed that the CPU was nearly irrelevant, and that you only needed a good GPU. 95% of "gaming" builds back then were using turds for CPUs.
Less and less "humble" with every update. They should change their name.
With mods it can already look much better than this, sans character models and lighting.
