No, you're entire point of view here is what's wrong. The sidequests do a lot of world building and add detail to the main storyline.
They're also varied in structure and have interesting characters, it's fun to watch Geralt interact with them.
This isn't Assassin's Creed where the side quests are all just pointless fetch quests or 'follow this dude here' quests that are completely separate from the...

Yeah...just go left from where you spawn on Venus. Took about 2 minutes there.
Luckily while I was there a 'pack of wolves' event started and I was able to complete that bounty too. This game is really good when things happen organically like that, just doesn't happen often enough.
It was about $5 more than your average CoD DLC and compared to that, there's a ton of content. I don't really agree that it's not worth the price. 5 new story missions, 5 new PVP maps, 2 new game modes and a ton of new weapons. That's more than most games give you in a DLC these days.
Still a flawed game, but this was a big step above the first DLC.
I was waiting for this before I continued with The Pre Sequel. Will have to jump back on and check it out...

I enjoyed the story missions a hell of a lot more than I did with TDB. Helps that they were longer and there were more of them.
The Fallen are also just more interesting than the Hive as enemies overall.
More than anything it gave me reason to go back and experience that amazing Bungie gunplay. They really are the best in that regard.
Prison of Elders areas are all new.
There's actually 5 PVP maps and they're all quite well designed.
The best way I can describe it is this DLC finally makes good use of what areas Destiny does have, story and patrol wise.
Fun DLC all around. Seems like Bungie learned from their mistakes with The Dark Below.
The big Comet expansion this fall will be awesome if they keep taking the community feedback this seriously.
Bungie did a great job with this DLC, a huge step above the last one.
Story missions were fun and there are more than expected (five).
Prison of Elders is a lot of fun. Level 32 was a good challenge, will try higher levels once I'm ready.
Most importantly for myself...the new PVP maps are stellar. They did a great job on all 4 of them. The one set in the "European Dead Zone" is a beauty.
Last year Little Big Planet 3 was announced at E3 and released the same year.
It's not unprecedented. There will definitely be something 1st party for late 2015 even if it's just an Uncharted collection. Which would be great.
I guess we shouldn't be surprised that CDPR got quite a bit of mileage from the PS4. I was always amazed at how good Witcher 2 looked on my 360.

He's a high level developer who worked at one of the most difficult game companies to get hired at. He sure as hell knows what he's talking about, whether or not he's currently developing something on it or not.
People seem to be fine taking the word of MS employees who aren't even developers regarding DX12. I'd hold the opinion of a talented, unbiased developer a little bit higher.
