One little flaw in your argument: the PS3 had superior hardware, but it was simply harder to code for.
The X1 has inferior hardware and seems to be a bit more difficult to code for (though it's far more similar this gen).
That sort of parity will be rare this gen with graphically intensive games (not the ones you've listed). Beyond that, the difference in exclusives will likely grow more as the generation goes on.
I'm a little ba...
Thanks for letting us know that you don't feel the need to buy the best version of great games.
We were all extremely curious to know what bobsmith's thoughts were on the matter.
You've obviously never played InFamous: SS or Killzone: SF.
Sunset Overdrive looks vibrant and I'm sure it will be a blast to play, but visually InFamous has it beat.
This is the first time you've heard PS4 is stronger?!
Welcome to the internet! Watch out for Nigerian royalty making false promises and no, clicking that link won't get you a bigger dick.
And you're incredibly gullible. Like I said I'm not trying to be inflammatory, I love this game and already have it preordered...but this 'preview' isn't a preview at all. It's just summary of what we know already passed off as though they have played it hands on. It's the definition of click bait.
" Improved responsiveness of the camera" is just a general comment on what 60fps does for any game. They mention nothing specific about the ga...
I'm sorry, but what impressions?
What portion of the game did they play in their demo? Were they able to experience some gun play to really see where the 60 FPS would shine? How did the stealth mechanics feel with the improved responsiveness? ANYTHING about actual gameplay?
There's literally not a single piece of info there that wasn't released already. It's just an odd article.
"We received a hands on preview copy"...
Man...the video game industry really needs better writers.
Did this guy really play the game? His entire preview consisted of listing a couple points that were already covered in other articles. How is this even a preview?
I'm not trying to be inflammatory here...it's just baffling. I would think if Naughty Dog gave me the chance to play their game early, they'd expect a bit more than this.
It's a screenshot...the game plays at twice the FPS. That's a huge difference.
I can't wait to see this in motion in person. I like that ND is holding back with the gameplay videos. Compressed 30fps Youtube videos won't do it justice.
Me too Mark, me too. Indie games are fun, but it's not the same.
I've gone back to my 360 recently due to the lack of said games on PS4. This fall will be glorious.
TLOU should tide me over til Destiny, at least.
They're all open world games...that's about it.
I think I speak for everyone when I say I appreciate you letting us know you have nothing to add to the conversation :p
Similar to what I did last gen...my PS was used mostly for these exclusives and all my other gaming was done on the 360.
I've sort of reversed that now though. Most games I play are multiplatform so it made sense to go where they perform best.
I'll definitely be picking up an X1 later in the year though. Cant just leave close to 50k In achievements behind!
You do realize that when ND created TLoU the assets they developed were far more impressive than what we saw, right? They don't develop low res textures, everything is created at high resolutions then scaled down to optimize for the hardware.
They also mentioned that their engine for TLoU was "next gen ready" (I'm paraphrasing here but you get the idea).
I'd be surprised if this isn't the most impressive looking game released so far...
@marcofdeath
Every time I see your name on here I throw up a bit...even before reading the post.
There's more to life than console wars brother. Please, for the love of gaming, give it up.
Yeah...why would a site dedicated to videogames show off the work of some of the industry's most talented artists?
Baffling!
Couldn't agree more. The single player campaign wasn't the best in the series, despite having some great moments, but it was quite an accomplishment considering they were developing the game well before they even had a final devkit available.
Never thought I'd say it, but I wish it had a more "COD-like" multiplayer set up, because that lack of instant gratification with the frequent rewards and leveling seems to have hurt it's support.
5 years seems like a good amount of time.
My only hope is for the 1st year post launch to be planned out better next gen. The "launch" needs to be just that, a time where big developers already have something targeted for release.
These last 2 have been very weak for both major consoles.
Coming from someone who's read the books and was skeptical about a lot of the casting...Dinklage is perfect as Tyrion. He truly embodies the character.
How in seven hells can he not act? He typically steals any scene he's involved in.
The Emmys can be a joke, but his was well deserved. Don't try to pass it off like some sympathy vote.
Said nobody ever.
Direct feed shots...that's what I'm talking about. Those 40 shots released the other day simply weren't representative to the way it's going to look playing in full 1080p, these are much closer.
Still hard to believe this game will be running at 60 FPS. As much as I loved my first couple playthroughs last year, frame rate was certainly an issue at times.
1 week!
