@MarioFTW:

Well considering Sony have sold 55+ Million PS3s & Microsoft have sold 60+ Million 360's in their lifetime & Nvidia/ATI sell millions of graphics cards every year, I wouldn't rule the PS3/360 crowd out as an insignificant market.

Quality sells, regardless of the price. Especially if the device is powerful, modern & well styled. Which the fortunately the Vita is.

Thankfully you have already mentioned the bo...

Sony should intensively advertise the Vita during the Holiday/Christmas season in the US & Europe.

Putting out teaser trailers on TV showing off it's graphical prowess months before its release, would take the edge off Nintendo's Xmas sales. This strategy has definitely worked for EA & Battlefield 3, it has helped create a genuine interest in the game with the more casual gaming audience.

I was in the cinema the other day and they showed t...

How come no one has thought of making a proper Rambo game before?

The body count he racks up is massive! Unlike John McClane or any other action hero, Rambo always shoots first & asks questions later!

Sony have addressed every criticizm of the old PSP. They have done a great job listening to both the developers & consumers & they have corrected any issues that were prevelaint on the old device.

Well done Sony. Now it's down to the consumer.

I remember I imported my old PSP in from Japan, months before it hit retail in Europe.

Greatest decision I have ever made!
Everybodys golf in Japanese has epic!

It was nearly worth the purchase alone, when you'd whip it out on a bus or train, and everyone would be enviously eying it up!

@LordPheonix:

It is only in recent months that smartphone games have eclipsed the visuals of the God of War games on the psp.
And yet technicaly Smartphones specs have dwarfed the old PSP (circa 2004) hardware for the past few years.

There is no point having quad core processors in phones for gaming purposes, if you don't have developers optimising games to take full potential of the hardware.

The thing is that Sony didn't announce any big titles for the PS3 in the long run at E3. They mostly showed their games that will be releasing soon.

Back towards the end of the PS2 cycle, gamers still had something look to, with games such as God of War 2. Unfortunately gamers this gen don't have the games to fill the 18 month void between mid-2012 & 2014

Call of Dutys, Uncharteds & FIFA's also appeal to the masses.

Sony aren't aiming to sell to pregnant women who sit on buses playing angry birds on their Iphones.

They're aiming for the 60+ million 360 users, the 55+ million PS3 users, the Nintendo fans who don't think the 3DS is worth their money & the millions of PC gamers who enjoy proper gaming on the go.

I'm buying a Vita, my mates are buying Vitas & from a...

Looks like I'll be getting a Wii U to keep me mulled over till next gen.

In my opinion after The Last Guardian releases (hopefully we'll get a 2012 release date at TGS), this gen is dead. Just like the way SOTC signaled the end of the last gen.

Hell even after Mass Effect 3 goes to retail in Spring, there isn't that much left to look forward to.

I want next gen consoles released in 2013.

Far Cry 3 on PSV is pretty much a certainty then?

The team that the Boks put out are still Super 14 regulars who are all vying for a places in the World cup team & most of the team still had plenty of test rugby experience. It is no excuse for a 33 point drumming.

Any proud rugby nation would not be lol'n at their national team getting beat off the pitch by their arch vivals. Hell it's not like the NZ'rs players aren't feeling fatigued themselves after the Crusaders reaching the Super 14 final, the expe...

Lol at league. There is a reason why its less popular. Running like headless chickens in straight lines over & over again gets boring. And theres only 2 international sides in the world even worth a watch.

Posh? Maybe in England. Union is an everymans sport everywhere else.

*EDIT*
@Inzo:

Top 14 say hello.
European Division 2 sides would have put up a better performance against NZ than the Boks did on saturday.

Crytek left space for modders to turn Crysis 2 into a graphical beast. Hopefully these mods will shut up PC elitists about how consoles 'ruined' Crysis.

THQ are publishers who aim to release their games on as many platforms as possible to maximise profits and please investors. It was obviously technical issues with Metro's 4A graphics engine on the PS3 that caused them to pull it in it's final stage of development. Why else would a company make a 'business' decision to cancel a game on a platform with a 50+ million install base?

Instead of releasing the PS3 version of Metro 2033 several months after it's i...

I actually wouldn't mind if Nintendo did a Sega & got out of the console manufacturing, and focused on game development instead.

It wouldn't be the worst thing in the world, if we saw all Nintendo's franchises go multiplatform.

I think Sega are probably glad that they got out of the console business when they did, seeing as how production costs have spiralled out of control, and companies now stand to lose everything if their consoles fail......

Didn't THQ not scrap Metro 2033 on the PS3 at the last sec because the devs were having difficulty programing on it...

I hope the new game fares better on the PS3 than the first did.

Is Frostbite 2.0 set to be the next generation's Unreal 3?

I hope EA encourage their studios to use their own independent engines rather than reusing FrB 3.0 in all their games....

Considering how easy it is to port PS3 games over to the Vita, it probably would be quite easy for the dev's to bring across all the work that has already been put into the PS3 version, and finish it and craft it into a PSV game

Nintendo have suffered disappointing console sales before.

Hell the Gamecube barely broke 20 million lifetime sales, while the N64 sold just over 35 million. Thats 2 consoles in a row that didn't perform that great at retail....and then Nintendo came back with a combo of megasellers (Wii & DS).
