There are a lot of asshole vice presidents out there, and even if Kojima was one of them, that's hardly grounds for termination in the midst of a flagship project he had been assigned to helm.
If it were as simple as "Kojima pissed the new CEO off" then he would've been removed at the end ...
There's no legitimate excuse to separate a director from his team like that. Doesn't matter if he was a prick. Let the man do his job.
Kojima also wasn't the only one mistreated during the corporate overhaul. A lot of AAA developers got screwed and at times humiliated by the Konami brass.
This whole ceremony felt off. An expansion pack (a great one sure, but still) getting RPG of the year? Uncharted 4 getting snubbed to high heaven? Street Fighter V getting best fighting game? Pokemon Go getting any award?
Feels like this was going by financial success alone, and Overwatch made the most money.

I've heard some awful things during that corporate overhaul. They also relegated major developers to janitorial work, to drive the message home that they weren't making AAA games anymore.
Some of the best minds in video game development were asked to clean toilets, thanks to Konami.

Really glad Kojima convinced Del Toro to come back. Makes me wonder if Junji Ito is also involved. Seems to have a similar feel to Gyo in its use of necrobiological technology.
There are also the 1.01 and 1.02 patches that most of these reviewers didn't get a chance to play due to early release copies. Both updates have new cutscenes (most of it footage from Kingsglaive I believe) that are meant to add some clarity to the story.
Lol you're only disappointed because it's getting praise. Stop trying; it's sad at this point. Everybody knows you've been bashing this game nonstop for months and will never actually play it.
