I'd take a good unfinished story to a long bad one any day. The Silmarillion, an unfinished Tolkien work, was still miles better than Hubbard's very finished Mission Earth series, for example.

The camera perspective is the last thing to worry about. As long as its story's good while fitting in with established lore, the gameplay is enjoyable, the puzzles are good, and it's actually scary, then it won't matter where the camera is.
