Everyone should experience this game! It’s unreal and that’s hard to do these days. It has great combat to go with story and atmosphere. Atreus is amazing, which is a feat unto itself.
Barlog said he wrote this with another in mind, so imagine what GoW 5 might be without having to build an engine and constantly having 20 bottlenecks slowing down the development process.

Hey. Now they can do whatever they want. I’m loving this game and just started. I was worried that the hype would ruin it like TLoU (which was great...especially the beginning...but ultimately tough to live up to). But this game is so far. The combat is sooooo damn good. Taking a page from Dark Souls was a brilliant idea! Brilliant. For those who want easy, there’s that. But for those who want to replay fights over and over to Master the system, this is also there, even on 2nd to hardest diff...
Unfortunately, this is what was needed at launch. The easy method didn’t keep ppl around and drove others off. A game like this should have a grind to max level.
That’s it. And yeah, Jaffa and Cliffy B go off to do their own thing and we get that teenage paper shooter and an Overwatch clone. And now a quickly rushed battle Royale clone, made by Epic. Would love to have seen Jaffe work on GoW or a NEW twisted metal.
And I didn’t think Ascension was done by them either. I’ll have to look. I do remember them losing someone big, and there being a fight over making a new IP, which was cancelled.
I guess this proves that it’s OK to revamp an old icon within a new genre afforded to us by new tech. There are so many wonderful stories that could be better realized in this manner.
Personal recommendation and favorite game of 2017. Nioh! Amazing!!!! And $20 is a steal for the available content. Also, at $20 with all the updates and those still yet to come, NMS is more than worth it.
I like seeing this, but would prefer it during a huge X1X release. Not during a GoW release. Though maybe now is the time to capitalize on the number of ppl aware of Sony’s stellar library.

@NewMonday this is the problem. It is ALL self inflicted. It has the makings of a generational IP. But...instead it’s hollow.
This isn’t necessarily true though. Even when new gems release, the current gen will be supported as last gen was. It took 2-3 yrs before devs started developing for this gen soley. This could continue through iterative releases.

Yep. I want Alsace anywhere back for strategic purposes. And loved the camera. But we will need an epic story, amazing enemies and an atmospheric setting.

This is very odd. GTA 5 is the best selling game of all time. And it’s foundation is as solid as it gets. It has the single best brand recognition of any non-Nintendo game.
Who the hell would think that RDR2 would ever surpass it? And it doesn’t need to. I remember when RDR released and we all wondered if a western setting would even sell at all.
