Sounds like Fortnite is doing OK. I remember when the trailer first came out, a long time ago after Gear 3. Who knew it would morph into this after years of creating what essentially was a survival horde mode.

My only issue...and it’s a nitpick coming from an mmo/Souls fan. I want more to work towards. The Valkyries are amazing, love the challenges and the farming. But I’d love an even deeper mechanic and enemies to work towards. Maybe a ng+ in which armor and weapons carry over.

The problem with this logic is that it assumes Epic has no nostalgia. Maybe they can’t draw from Gears because it’s an Xbox exclusive...I dunno. But if CoD can’t do 100 players...or it’s simply JUST recycled assets...that will be a problem up against a game that has a dynamic map...everchanging.
Now, I’m all for seeing them do well. This could be quite amazing...but it won’t beat Fortnite on nostalgia alone.

Tough to deny how great a Battle Royale could be with an FPS of this quality. BUT, they need to create a DYNAMIC world that changes etc. The world must be the star like it is in PuBG and Fortnite.
