No. It's really not! MS had (and still has) a "vision" for what they want consoles to be.... And gaming is just a small part of it. The ability to mine your data, what you watch on TV, streaming services, Skype, the game you play... They want to know everything you do... Who is in the room, what brands of beer and snacks you consume (kinect patent), everything.... It's really disturbing. This on top of the horrible "metro" ui, the under powered GPU, the lower s...
As far as I know, it's digital only. It's a day one buy for me! Will replace my ps1 version that I bought on my PS3!
My last gaming PC (laptop) was back in 2005, and cost me $3500. It was almost immediately obsolete, but for a while, I took pleasure in the fact that it played games better than any other laptop out there. Before too long, I needed to upgrade and spend more money if I wanted to get the most out of the new games. And not long after that, I found that it was barely able to keep up with the new games, and had to play them at lower resolution.
I would LOVE to get a new gaming ...
I don't think bundling any of these games is going to make the console any more appealing. If Titanfall free in the box doesnt move the needle, what makes them think the DLC infested FIFA will?
Looks like they know where their weaknesses are. I had a BLAST playing ISS, but I agree that by the end of the game, you felt like you were just "checking off boxes". Go here, do this, wash, rinse, repeat.
I DO feel that they did an excellent job telling the story, though. There were plenty of great moments in the narrative, and I thought the voice acting and the cut scenes were really well done!
That being said, I do hope they venture out and tr...
Actually the FACT is that Xbox One currently has less than HALF the number of games the PS4 does, and Sony has MORE games launching this year that are already announced than Microsoft does.
Check your FACTS before posting in caps!
Troll harder next time, the NPD numbers posted were XBOX numbers.
More credibility than Phil Spencer himself when he said that DX12 wouldn't give any significant benefit to the Xbox One?
Or are you just going to cherry pick which articles and information you pay attention to?
Sony set up their current success after learning some painful lessons last generation.
Last gen, with the PS3, they had incredible hardware...that was incredibly difficult to develop for.
This gen, before even writing the specifications, they TALKED to the developers and LISTENED to what they wanted. This resulted in a console with a more powerful GPU, and 8GB of GDDR5 memory. They made their development tools easier and more intuitive to use. They also AC...
Yeah, but higher Toyota sales don't mean that I can't put Chevron gas in my Kia. The sooner MS gets ground into the dust, the better off all gamers will be.
How do you figure MS is over 5 million SOLD TO CUSTOMERS? If they were, we would have heard a press release from MS when they topped 5 million sold-through. We have heard NOTHING from them since the announcement of 5 million SOLD-IN to retailers!
Also, even if VGC is overtracking Xbox One again...it still shows that it would take another 16+ weeks for Xbox One to get an additional million in sales at their current rate!
I am calling BULLSHIT on this...until they can SHOW us how much better "The Power of the Cloud" (TM) makes this game, I refuse to believe ANY of the hype.
"The Power of the Cloud" (TM) couldn't keep Titanfall's frame rates out of the mid TEENS, or give the AI enough intelligence to outsmart a cockroach, why should we believe this guy?
Admiral Ackbar approved!
Why did it fail? Simple, it was overhyped. Every other article in the few weeks prior to launch was about how "revolutionary" this game was...how it was going to put the Xbox One back on the map, how it was going to show us the future with "The Power of the Cloud" (TM)!
When it came out for the X1, and people saw that it had essentially last gen graphics, and couldn't even render THOSE at more than 782p, saw that it had screen tearing issues, saw tha...
Guess we aren't getting a "Slim" then...because PS4 is not going to "fall behind" the Xbox this gen at all! Sure MS will win a week here or there, but if you look at sales in 2014, Xbox is getting SLAUGHTERED month after month, even in NA. It's not going to change...if you doubt me, just go look at the Amazon best seller rankings.
Yes, PS4 can handle 1440p. It's much like changing resolution on a PC game. The most important thing for VR is a solid frame rate, 60fps minimum (Oculus is shooting for up to 75fps). To achieve that with the PS4 hardware, Sony is instructing developers to target "PS3 level" graphics in their games, and then tweak from there, but always targeting a SOLID 60fps.
The reason most of the games on PS4 are struggling to hit 1080p AND 60fps, is because the develope...
Considering OLED screens of this resolution are now common in mobile phones, I don't see this significantly impacting the price. Remember, we are not talking about 1000 units or 10,000...Sony probably will buy these in lots of 50,000 at a shot! In those quantities, the price difference between a 1080p LCD screen and a 1440p OLED is probably around $10 or even less.
I am glad to see it selling so well! I think the remote play and cross play features with the PS4 are the "killer app" that will drive adoption. Personally, I am looking forward to more games supporting the 2nd screen functionality!
So, much like the launch in the US and EU, it will sell incredibly well at launch, then stagnate on shelves.
I have a VERY hard time with his statement that Kinect is popular in Japan, as they rejected it wholesale last gen. Most gamers simply don't have enough room at home to use one!
I bought a Sager...which was identical to the Alienware model at the time, and about $1000 less expensive. Yes, I know desktops are more economical, but I needed a laptop (and GPS) for work related stuff too.
And, yeah, I have seen what I can get for $600...I don't think I would be very happy with it. I priced out a good system with a GTX 780 a SSD and plenty of RAM, would cost me about $2000.
I might get one eventually...but right now I have other prio...
