I too am wondering what the ship upgrades actually give you...anyone know?
Point #1. These countries made up less than 10% of Xbox 360 sales last gen. ALL of them favor PS4 heavily.
Point #2. There is this little game called Destiny launching in September. Maybe you have heard of it? It is going to BURY the Xbox One in September...because, despite being multiplatform, it is being HEAVILY promoted by Sony, and unlike the Xbox version, has a bundle with a special edition PS4. It WILL move hardware for the PS4, like it or not.
No, what is hilarious is that people like you still seem to think that "Tier 2" countries are going to make a significant impact in global sales!
Remember, these countries COMBINED contributed less than 10% of global sales with the Xbox 360. If you are expecting these countries to make up the difference in sales between the PS4 and Xbox One, you are going to be in for a rude awakening! COMBINED they won't even make up the difference in sales in North America...
Lighten up, guys, I was making a JOKE because PSN was down due to heavy traffic and Xbox fans were flaming away...
I am sure the Xbox outage will be extremely short and everything will be fine on BOTH systems by the time everyone gets home from work (those that didn't call in "sick" today, anyway!)
Must be because of all of the users downloading the Destiny beta! Oh wait, that's NEXT WEEK for you guys!
1. coming in third when you are in competition with 2 others, yes, DOES mean you failed!
2. Nintendo has differentiated themselves enough that their console isn't in direct competition with either the PS4 or the Xbox One. You buy Nintendo consoles to play Nintendo games, not to play multiplatform games.
3. It's been long enough to see that the Xbox One is not selling in the numbers that they predicted. It's been long enough that MS decided to re...
No, we can also shout about getting TLoU this month along with Abe's Oddysee, or about how we will be enjoying the best version of Destiny (and how some of us are already enjoying the beta!)...
We can shout about how we will be able to buy a VR headset in the near future, which will give us an experience that the Xbox One simply will not have...
We can shout about how we are looking forward to LBP3, Bloodborne, The Order, and Uncharted 4...
So much for arguments like "MS has money to burn!"
While I think that this was a needed move, especially given the incredible incompetence of this particular division, and their inability to interface properly with established entertainment companies, I think it really proves that their whole "vision" with the XBox One was flawed from the beginning.
So now, of course, they will focus on the games...with a console that is the same price a...
I'm not the one who is blind. I base my purchasing decisions based on logic. Which console gives me more for my money? Be it performance, number of games, quality of games, cost of accessories, diversity of the types of games available....in almost any category you care to name, Sony comes out on top this gen.
Last gen, I had both a 360 and a PS3. I preferred single player games on my PS3, but every multiplayer game I bought was for 360. Why? Because MS offered a su...
You can sum up all of these discussions pretty easily...you have two camps. One who looks at things logically and points out the better performing hardware has the better looking games...and the fans who are blindly loyal to a soulless corporation and trying to convince themselves and others that hardware doesn't matter, performance doesn't matter, and that their inferior game library is competitive (or even attractive). (this last camp is also fond of saying "Just wait until.....
Nope. Still not selling enough to beat out the WiiU, let alone close the gap with the PS4. Also, it remains to be seen if the sales increase is a new baseline with the lower price, or if it was just a spike. So far, numbers seem to indicate that May was artificially depressed by the early announcement of the cheaper sku and that they enjoyed a small spike and went back to selling 35-40k consoles a week in the US.
You first!
I'm loving my ds4! Is also breathing new life into my PS3 games! MUCH IMPROVED over the ds3!
When MS has crappy numbers, they like to tout that they "doubled sales"! Sounds great in a press release...but means nothing in real life. They do the same thing with Windows Phone and with Surface. It's not hard to double your sales when the original number was so low! And if you double your sales, but still lag behind the market leader, you didn't really accomplish much, did you? And if you double sales, and STILL didn't beat the market leader, even after introduc...
too easy, nevermind.
The most telling thing about this story is that Sony is not comparing themselves to Microsoft to judge their success, but to the PS2!
Sorry, but there is not a compelling reason to own both this generation. 95% of all games this gen will be multiplatform, and so far, I have seen very little in the way of compelling software on the Xbox. Besides, I would MUCH rather take that $400 (+ accessories) that I would have spent on an Xbox One and save it for the Morpheus!
Thanks for sharing that! Even better, this list has links for the sources where the data was obtained!
Isn't there supposed to be some sort of "upgrade pricing" for those that bought GTA V digitally on PS3? I seem to remember hearing something like that when the game was first announced on PS4, but haven't heard anything about it since...
How do you achieve 1080p on the Xbox One? Simple, take the PS4 version and dumb down the graphics and effects! Or, don't do that, and get screen tearing and horrible frame rates (Sniper Elite 3, anyone?).
