It looks like when Morpheus does hit retail, there will be quite a few games to go along with it! Excellent news!
@snookiegamer It has nothing to do with "tribal behavior" (other than buying the same system your friends have so you can play together online)
It has more to do with rejecting PR spin that one company is shoveling out. MS is trying to convince people to buy a console that is less capable than the competition. They are so hard that they even stole Playstation's tag line during their E3 presentation! ("It's the best place to play")
Well, the most important thing it could do...you know...PLAY GAMES...it doesn't do better than the competition.
The other thing it doesn't do is sell.
Hint for you MS:
If you are going to sell a GAME CONSOLE, make sure it can PLAY GAMES better than anything else out there.
MS wasted so much time developing features no one really cares about, they compromised it's primary functionality to do it...and now they are paying th...
Despite the failure of the 3DO, I had a HELL of a lot of fun with it! Fond memories of Road Rage, Super Street Fighter II Turbo (best port available at the time!), Star Control II, Gex...there were some great games on it...and let's not forget the game Naughty Dog (their very first commercial game!) would rather us forget about...Rise of the Warrior! Rather cheezy Mortal Kombat knock off...but hey, it had a soundtrack from White Zombie! Ahhh...good times!
Yes! Exactly! LOL I can see something like this being played JUST like this!
Oculus doesn't have any equivalent to the move, they are relying on other parties to come up with solutions. Morpheus, on the other hand, is working not only on the HMD, but on 3D positional audio and with the Move technology to track both the HMD and peripherals.
Oculus has admitted that Sony is ahead of the game on that front...but, then again, if it weren't for Oculus, Morpheus probably wouldn't be getting the amount of attention it is. I think there is room ...
The screens are 960x1080 (half of the horizontal resolution of a TV screen), so rendering both isn't going to be an issue for the PS4.
Sony has told developers to target "PS3 level" graphics, then tweak up from there to ensure a solid 60fps frame rate...for VR, the frame rate being rock solid 60fps is more important than any other consideration...otherwise you get motion sickness.
Bottom line, as long as the developers take care, there is no pro...
Nah, the difference in price would probably be negligible for Sony...especially as these screens are being mass produced for cell phone use. In quantity, I would guess somewhere around $10 more expensive than an LCD screen.
Yes! Someone please make this happen!
@jmac53 Morpheus doesn't count? Cross-play with Vita doesn't count? Remote play with PS TV and Vita don't count?
Also, this "it's not TRUE next-gen" is utter crap. It's performance is significantly better than the PS3 or Xbox 360.
How much more "differentiation" do you need to be happy?
Don't kid yourself, it IS failing. They are struggling, even with the lower price, to sell more than 70,000 a week worldwide. They are even losing in their home territory in NA.
Perception is everything right now, and the general perception out there is that the Xbox One is an inferior console. That is being reinforced with every new multiplatform game release, and the inevitable story showing the PS4 versions running at higher resolution and/or frame rate.

OK, so reading the headline, I just visualized a VR version of Angry Birds....getting loaded into a slingshot and flung across a map to crash into a pile of piggies! That could be REALLY fun! Rovio, get on it!
(might need a disclaimer about motion sickness or vertigo though!)
Between this game and the others that Sony hasn't announced yet, I think MS is about to get SPANKED in the exclusive "AAA" game department! Not even Sunset Overhype will be able to save them!
I don't know if the Xbox One ranks as the biggest...I owned an Atari 7800 and a Panasonic 3DO after all (and my friend owned the Jaguar)...then there is the Sega Saturn and the Dreamcast.
But...it definitely ranks up there. From the incredibly horrid E3 they had prior to launch to the decisions to put "metro" on the UI to the selection of underpowered components....it all adds up to an overpriced, underpowered console that now, without Kinect, loses not only th...
He has a strange way of counting "Blockbusters". Remove the Kinect games, first off...then remove all of the Multiplatform games. Now remove the betas. What are they left with?
Forza 2
Halo remaster
Sunset Overhype
Ori and the Blind Forest
Are these titles going to move hardware? Or excite anyone other than die hard Xbox fans? Nope.
Phil needs a math lesson, apparently. Oh, and let's not forget tha...
Yeah, I think Halo 5 would sell close to 10 million (on 360 and XB1), but not Halo 1-4. It may move 20,000 hardware units or so, but nothing more than that.
Halo fans ALREADY OWN an XB1 for the most part. Most other gamers moved on when Bungie did.
Here's a hint guys...you remember the "Nintendo Seal of Quality"? Yeah, the EA logo is the polar opposite of that. If it has "EA" on the box, I don't buy...PERIOD. I don't care how appealing the game might look.
It's been painfully obvious for a few years now that EA values it's shareholders over it's customers. I don't see that changing anytime soon...and until it does, I won't buy a SINGLE game from them!
All you need to know:
1. Die hard Xbox fans have already imported them from other countries.
2. NONE of these countries contributed much to Xbox 360 sales
3. Most of these countries don't have the same taste in games as Western countries.
4. Most of these countries don't like or trust MS very much.
5. Sales will be pathetic in these countries.
darn it, I wanted to check them out, but the link is broken!
Remember the "good ole days" when we just spent $50 on a game? Now, $60/year isn't enough for EA, they have to DLC us to death! NO THANKS!
