I thing about subscriptions services is the media helped convince everyone to "cut the cord" on cable etc. They were all on board to getting everyone to sign up for loads of individual subscriptions instead. Turns out that is worse and more expense and people still don't like subscriptions. The only people who like them are people who are flush with cash and no sense and don't watch their bank balance. or it is people in the industry who get this stuff for free that pump and...
No they haven't.
I don't think the physical combat would look good in 3rd person because of the way it plays in FPS.
Mirrors Edge was a good attempt at making a more organic feeling FPS game with physical combat but this game is pretty bad when it comes to the physical combat. It makes the game look amateurish.
1st person games in this genre are not as popular with the casual audiences. Gun play works fine in first person but as shown in this game the physical combat is awful, even Gang Beasts looks better. I'd suspect they probably lost a lot of casual gamers with this decision.
As I said in another reply, Most anime for the past couple of decades has been rubbish, so I wouldn't get that upset about it. The medium itself is just littered with bad 2D computer graphics, bad voice acting (dubs), and rehashed or bad stories. Anime peaked in the 90's and has been in decline ever since.
Not every game needs a sequel. I think it is good that Demons Souls and Bloodborne stand on their own. I'd rather see them collaborate on a new IP. Which is what they did with the two I just mentioned.
Most anime has been rubbish for decades now. So I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.
To be honest 7/10 is generous, I'd give it a 5/10. The Aliens are not very clever.
There is very much an anti subscription sentiment brewing in the background which many of these companies are not seeing. People are being squeezed financially and they don't want ever increasing subscriptions on top of subscriptions.
Redefining fan into not a fan is what I'm getting.
Too many souls-like games around now.
They are going to be in for a shock when the PS6 comes around, I've bought 10 PS5 games this generation that is down from like 100 or so previous generations. This is because they went back on exclusive software and I just get their stuff for free on PC now.
Then there is Microsoft's approach which is just to piss in the wind and 95% of their stuff turns out bad. Developers might like that personally but you'll be out of a job quicker than you know it through badly shipped products.
Seems like this game came and went like Starfield, another game over-rated by the press yet again.
Another real review. Compared to the fake US mafia conglomerate IGN etc.
Remember this was the same group of reviewers that tried to give Microsoft a win with Starfield and it wasn't as good as they said. It feels like they US gaming media collective as still trying to prop up Microsoft so they can relive their 360 days.
It is actually a fair review, You have this Starfield over-rated review problem again. The game is a 7/10 it has problems and is not near perfect.
It has aged fined, The game is a 7/10 at best (The Real Reviews). The reviews that are ignoring the jank and bugs think that having Indiana Jones in a game makes up for that but it doesn't
Yeah it was PlayStation Now that came first, but at least Sony had the sense to just leave it in the background as a running experiment. Instead of Microsofts ramming it down your throat approach as the only option and pretend it's just an option when it's clearly not.
