Honestly it's not surprising, but I will pay attention because I'll want to see what their possible next generation Call Of Duty offering will be. We know they'll put out MW4 on 360, Wii U, PS3, but they wont pass up a chance to get in on the new consoles as well.
That is probably the only reason I'd listen to Activision about a COD game.
That is a fantastic price for a great game, Halo 4 is my favorite Halo and the campaign is very epic and cinematic, it has some of the best looking character models you'll ever see. Well worth it for that price, I'd recommend it to any shooter fan.
Come on now, negative Microsoft articles have been flooding N4G for weeks now. You also have to keep in mind that not everyone had an issue with Xbox Live the other day, I was never kicked off line and was able to fully use my Xbox Live Gold Membership.
Also, I'd like to point out that quite a few games on Xbox Live use dedicated servers at this point, even though Microsoft doesn't have the most open network because they don't want too many cooks stirring the pot...
If it is true it'll be a huge feather in the cap for Microsoft, but it doesn't mean victory in the console war. It is important to a lot of people and you just get the feeling Sony wanted to have that feature but because of the Cell processor, they couldn't.
Hopefully some of these newer next-Box rumors come to be true, I'm liking how it sounds, but nothing is official until they come out and say so.
I was super surprised by all the new 3DS games announced, I kind of thought we'd see Majora's Mask 3D, which would have been easier for them to make then the new game they are putting out, but it looks pretty darn epic.
Good thing we'll never get the chance to find out, all next gen consoles won't employ DRM.
The Sega Saturn launched at E3, to the surprise of everyone.
I highly doubt Sony will launch a console like that though, they will want to build up hype and anticipation and give people time to get pre-orders in. Aside from all of that, they said Holiday 2013 at the unveiling.
*Edit*
@Why o why
I lived it, they announced that the Saturn was already available during their E3 show.
Even if Sony held an event or two before E3, I h...
This sounds so much more realistic to me, I mean doesn't it sound more feasible to everyone else as well? Certainly Microsoft ignoring 25+ million current 360 owners who don't have their consoles hooked up to the internet didn't sound very real to me, same with blocking used games, I was hoping for backwards compatibility since Microsoft did such a great job setting up the 360 ecosystem with Achievement, if everything can carry over, that is win/win.
The funny thi...
Thank god, the 5 maps over and over again were getting old.
People could have bought a PS3, Wii, Wii U or PC if they had such a big problem with XBL, as I said, there are alternatives. As a long time gamer I realize gaming is a choice and hobby, that has a cost, I've never spent more then $35 a year on it, which is less then $3 a month, not really breaking the bank and totally worth it to me. Let me enjoy what I want without snarky comments.
PSN was free this gen and MS didn't have to do anything, they take in like a billion a year with the service, and it grew 15% last year. What would MS incentive be to make their online free?
I've never understood why or how people feel they have the right to tell others how to spend their own money.... If you don't like XBL there are alternatives, but plenty of people enjoy the service very much.
Free DLC for Forza Horizon as well, nice bit of Gamerscore to be had off it.
You cannot pre-order a PS4 on Amazon, at Gamestop, Walmart, Best Buy or any other retailer that I know of. Gamestop has a "first to know" list, but that's about it.
Of course I still like my Wii U, I have about 10 games for it, but it needs some of the Nintendo staples, Mario 3D, Zelda, Mario Kart, Metroid, Smash Bro's, Starfox, Mario Party and Animal Crossing.
I'll have plenty of fun when those types of games come out.
Didn't the Vita launch at $249 and $299 respectively? You think the PS4 will launch for just $50 to $100 more?
I think we might see one PS4 SKU at $400, but there will probably be one more expensive. $400 isn't terrible though.
Did the PS4 launch without me knowing? Otherwise I think Microsoft is fine for now. Neither console has shown a console, you cant pre-order either one, Microsoft is finally starting to get some positive rumors, and the ball is in Microsoft's court for when they want to show us, looks like May 21st will be the day, which isn't too long off now.
DRM! Surprise!
I bought both, Gears Judgment on launch date, and a week or so later my local Gamestop had the Collectors Editions of God Of War Ascension on sale for $50, which was $10 cheaper than the standard, I guess they had too many that were taking up space, so I bought that.
The statue is plastic though, I thought it'd be of higher quality material.
I'm just excited to get some real news, all the rumor and speculation was fun, some of it was about as fun as a root canal, but I generally like to talk about gaming with people so it had an upside.
The mostly negative stuff has subsided a bit and I'm thinking the playing field will be pretty even, I would prefer the next Xbox be called Xbox Infinity, and they could use the Buzz Lightyear phrase "To Infinity and beyond!". I think it could work out better the...
