I have been wondering about this the whole night. I have had Plus since it started and I loved that anyone on my console could play the free games. I still don't really like that they put multiplayer behind Plus but at least it is still pay once and everyone can use it.
Well Sony has been and will continue to push Day One Digital download of games. I have yet to buy any big titles through that since I still generally like having a physical copy. But I have also used Steam and I like what Sony is trying to do with PS4 that allows you to start playing a game while it is downloading. I can certainly see myself making a transition to buying games more through digital means.
But to really make that feasible the Big Publishers need to allow Sony ...
They did leave the door open that it could appear on the PS4 at some point as well. I still remember when everyone were adamant that Mass Effect would never appear on the PS3. It took sometime but it finally came over. Also if the PS4 starts to outsell XBOX One by a large margin and it actually hurts the sells of Titan Fall I wouldn't be surprised if it made the leap sooner than expected. No doubt their is a clause somewhere in the contract expecting a certain amount to be sold.
They will also most likely be stretching out their exclusive titles like they have with the PS3. So I expect we will see some big ones at E3 next year as well. They also have PAX later this year to show off some games and I expect we will see more Indie titles that will be on the PS4 their as well.

Trust me I know that fact. I work in a data center so I am well aware how much that stuff can cost. It is just I always talked against the 360 because MS locked down MP behind Gold live along with a lot of the other features. I always thought that putting the features behind Gold but making MP free would have been great. Now however Sony does the opposite. However if PSN shows a marked improvement over what it has been with PS3. Then it will be well worth it. Honestly the fee is already worth...
Also not hard to go back and re download a title you may have deleted but want to play again.

While yes you can add an external drive to the XBOX One the reason why we are excited with the PS4 is the fact you can swap out the current drive and it keeps it internal. That means no unneeded external connection.

This actually did impress me some because I enjoyed playing KI2 on N64. But with this most recent news about the game and how it will be handled at release I'm not so sure it will be that successful.

That fact still bothers me. I have had PS+ since day one because for the extra games and other features it has been worth it. But I have always had an issue when someone has to pay to play online. I won't disconnect my Plus account nor will I skip the PS4 but it just sucks that they had to go that route. I just hope that one Plus account will allow anyone on that system to game online. Kind of like how right now anyone on the system can play any of the games that were downloaded for free....
Wow this is great news. I upgraded my PS3 to a 750gb HDD when my original HDD decided to die on me. No big deal since I had wanted to upgrade it all along. So I will most likely do an upgrade to the PS4 as well. Especially if I start buying a lot of digital titles.

Yeah Sony still has a a ton of 1st party studios who are no doubt working on exclusive titles. They showed they have what it takes with the PS3 and I have no doubt they will really do well with the PS4.

They said that all the media stuff and Single player focused games would remain the same. meaning you don;t need to pay more to access it. Also that would extend to buying and downloading new games and DLC. No need to have plus to do all that. Plus does however give you discounts on some games and DLC though but if you don;t have Plus you can still buy that stuff. You just won;t get the discount.
A 1 year membership for Plus costs $49.99. They give you many games with that during the year and the cost of those games and the discounts can easily save you hundreds of dollars each year. I am not happy they put the online MP behind it but I have been paying for Plus since it came out and I have enjoyed the games I have gotten for free. Some of which I still need to play. It has given me that much of a back log of games that I will still be playing them when the PS4 comes out.

I had the same thing happen to me. I missed the entire middle of the conference. i was streaming it on my phone while heading into work and it dropped out completely.
Agreed. They are blinded by their own misguided ambitions and never saw the cliff ahead of them. They walked right over the edge and even on the way down still thought they were doing the right thing.
Kingdom Hearts 3 is the big one for me. With KH 1.5 coming out in the US this fall for PS3 I hope they have plans to do a HD release of KH 2 before 3 hits though. granted I want all of the others as well but KH 3 is just wow I didn't see that coming.
Sony may come up with another sku with a bigger HDD, 1 year Plus subscription, maybe an additional controller, and/or a game with the price point of $499. Then still have the current sku at $399 and completely trump anything MS could possibly do to try and make the One look like something other than a complete piece of crap.
MS shot themselves in the foot. Sony walked up and instead of helping them they kicked MS while they were down.
