The 360 is a failure in Japan because it's had Microsoft to throw money at JPRPG devs to even get to where it is now and it's still not over a million. It has nothing to do with who has sold what compared to how many.
Any system that can't even sell a million consoles in Japan is a failure there, period.
And no, the PS3 is not a failure in America either. Yet another fanboy article passing itself off as something else simply because it comes from a 'gaming news' webs...
I'm curious about all of this nay saying going about the sales of LittleBigPlanet...
It's sold 830,000 copies. If you don't think that's successful then you're are one of two things: A complete retard or a fanboy. Was Fallout 3 for the PS3 a failure too? It only sold 500,000 copies. I guess Fallout 3 was a "near" failure on 360 as well since it sold only a little over one million.
Just because the game isn't selling like a well established and highly over h...
So let me see if I get this right.
Selling 17.4k is somehow not as good as selling 15.4k consoles because you also sold 17.4k consoles last week and the competition... That you've been outselling for two weeks now... Doubled from 8k to 15.5k?
In other words over the course of two weeks the PS3 sold nearly 35,000, and it's bad... but somehow selling over 10,000 less (nearly 24k) means things are going good for the 360 in Japan?
This is the most idiotic an...
So murder and mayhem against innocent men, women and children was fine but having to torture somebody was just too much for this guy? Didn't grasp the concept of being an undead evil monster under the control of the Lich King did he?
Do they include the sales to people who are replacing their console? I've always wondered just how many of the reported number of 'sold' 360s were actually sold to the same people as replacements.
Why the rush, beyond the fact that it's a PS3 exclusive, to declare LBP a failure? It's sold what? Close to 750,000 copies? And you're comparing it to the sales of three huge and well established franchises like World of Warcraft? Where was the rush to declare Fable 2 a failure for its amount of sales because it hardly blew the doors off the game shops when it came out. For that matter, what about Fallout 3? Compared to the three games they're comparing Little Big Planet sales to... Fallout 3...
Near identical in the current market means "examined with a fine tooth comb to find inconsequential differences that mean absolutely nothing to game play and play up these differences as if they were the most important thing in the world".
It might play well, it might work well, but the graphics look completely horrible.
If a NFS game fails in the woods and EA is there to hear it, do they care?
"but now it seems they’ve thrown that out the window and skewed massively to the casual players and apparently left the hardcore out to dry."
Wait, you mean they've finally bought a clue and decided that appealing to a tiny % of elitists rather than the other 10.99 million people is probably the best way to do business? I'm shocked.
Now all they need to do is remove arena from the game entirely and bring back real PvP and they will have a quality product ag...
Being called up every couple of years to do their roles again and again is not quite the same as tracking down people after 10 years.
Page me when they've removed the atrocity of pvp centered around arena and replaced it with real war between the Horde and Alliance again.
I bet I could make fifty or five hundred or five thousand levels and not a single one of them would be deleted. I commend a company that gets heavy handed with their moderation policies because what usually happens is they let things slide little by little until they get completely out of hand.
It's pretty, but that's about all I can say for it so far. Those are some really nice still pics... Enough to catch my interest at least. I'd like to see it in motion before I pass judgment.
If you do something that violates the rules they've put in place then prepare face the fist of an angry mod. It's your fault for screwing up and not their fault for changing it.
And you are not entitled to a warning of any sort. This is the same as it always is... People cry about 'freedom' and don't seem to grasp the concept of using other peoples servers.
Age of Conan and Warhammer Online are both crap compared to WoW, which is not to say WoW is good but it's a far cry better than everything that's come out after it.
Age of Conan screwed up by having absolutely nothing in terms of interesting content after the first area. You went from a town where you did relevant quest after relevant quest and felt like you were a part of something... To absolute mind numbing repetitiveness of bug hunts and fetch quests.
Go out, kil...
To be fair it works both ways... It could just as easily be said that people had a problem with MGS4 spoilers and complained about them but now all of a sudden spoilers are fine and dandy.
How come back when people tried to post every MGS4 spoiler they could there was nothing wrong with that but now all of a sudden posting spoilers is some great crime?
Quit worshiping at the Cliffy B altar already. We do not need to see every link that is remotely related to his every word...
Wait, he's commenting on some guys that apparently want to have sex with him... And there's apparently some really really REALLY obsessed people that feel the need to post each and every word the man says...
Now it makes PERFECT sense and I see why some people are obsessed with this guy.
Not a bad list, I might have put them in a different order though.
FF7 was garbage and had no place on that list, particularly considering what Xenogears was 'under' it.
