The movie versions are just glorified versions of modern infantry.
The book versions are something else. More akin to sci fi special forces. Not quite up there with Warhammer 40k Space Marines, but well beyond the Starcraft version of them.
To quote the book "You don't deploy tanks against them unless you want to lose a lot of tanks"
This review strikes me as "Hey, this game was not what I imagined it to be in my own mind before I played it so it's not that good"

You do realize that the only advantage the 360 had to begin with was that it released a year earlier than the PS3?

Since it mentions games you can be sure that by the time the media/anti-game crowd is done with it he will have planned it based on what he did in a game, learned how to use the gun based on a game, and the bullets will probably be loaded with fragments of game disks which will somehow make them more sinister and deadly.
You know what the real penalty is?
The loss of sales that will result from this, because now that I know this I can absolutely promise you I will not purchase this game at any price. I will not play this game even if you give it to me.
