Head to head comparisons are nothing but people trying to get page hits. In a few cases it's valid, when there's a significant difference between two versions but in 95% of the cases the differences are so minor nobody would even notice them if these idiots weren't around to point them out.
The direct association between ordering pizza and gaming started with EQ2 when you could order pizza from within the game itself. I have no idea if you can still do that mind you.
Haven't you always been able to order pizza from any console with a web browser anyway? You can order pizza online. This is assuming you want to go to that much trouble.
As I said with the EQ2 /pizza option, is it that much trouble to reach for a phone?
Every time I claim that Microsoft doesn't ever do anything but throw money around in order to 'compete' I get all kinds of disagrees or complaints. Here's just another chip on a growing stack of evidence: Microsoft is throwing money around because that is the only way it can 'compete' even with a years head start. It would be fine if they helped fund the development of new games, but what they do instead is prowl around looking at what other companies are doing, then they start shoveling mone...
In MMOs bots are not hard to spot.
Yet no matter how many times they are reported by people, it takes forever for them to be banned.
There are at least two or three games that I can think of that were significantly diminished in terms of quality because they went multiplatform after Microsoft threw it's money and influence around.
And the 360 fans smirked and jeered whenever it happened.
That's right, ToV is coming to PS3 and it's going to be better than the 360 version. You will live.
This would be the second major game to suffer from Microsoft's standard business practice of not creating better products, but throwing money until they 'win', and consumers always suffer for it.
The problem for a sequel would be a setting. Where do you go after Arkham? It's THE place to have an ultimate showdown between Batman and his rogues gallery.
Where do you go from there? You're left with Black Gate or possibly some kind of very large building. You could use Gotham itself of course but that either requires driving sequences which rarely work out well or a lot of moving around over rooftops.
I've been playing Champions now for a few weeks, before and after the dreaded patch that has come to destroy us all.
The nerf is was justified and needed.
Whether or not you like Champions Online specifically, if you are interested in MMOs you should at least hope for Champions to be successful as possible even if you never have any intention of playing it.
It doesn't revolutionize MMOs in any way shape or form but it's a step in the right direction for them. It's at least one step removed from the model that Everquest created and WoW ultimately got the most 'right', but the problem is that all of these games are basically the same...
Step 1) Write an article about an MMO
Step 2) Use the term "carebear server"
The term commonly thrown about by losers who can't stand the idea of anyone else having fun in their own way.
Just like the last price drop had nothing to do with the 360 being outsold for several months right? The 360 didn't suddenly get less expensive to make, as the PS3 did before it's recent price drop, but just ignore that fact.
Because it has the FF7 characters in it.
Oh it would probably still be popular without them, but I would imagine that without the FF characters and the FF7 characters in general nobody would care that much.
As proof of this I go back to KH2 where the boards across the net lit up like a Christmas tree the moment the voice actors were revealed, and 90% of the conversation about them was who was voicing Cloud or Sephiroth.
Step 1) Make a list of the top 3 free MMOs
Step 2) Include Anarchy Online
The "outrage" stems largely from kids going "We have to BUY it if we want to play it online!?"
Champions closed beta ending, open beta starting soon but won't be here for long.
Guess this is something to try out.
The link from HHG isn't broken, the main APB site is having an issue. Their DB is getting slammed.
As George Washington put it after he helped but an end to King George II rule over America:
"I did not rid of us King George the Second, to become King George the Third."
That Che and Castro removed a dictator is absolutely meaningless if all they did was replace one brutal repressive regime with another brutal repressive regime. You say that Communist Cuba has delivered a higher standard of living than any third world country? Would you listen to yourself?...
We can write an article about the new Splinter Cell game while extolling it's virtues and praising it's innovation...
Or...
We can write an article about the new Splinter Cell game and claim it's better than a very popular exclusive game on another console....
Let's go with option two since it will get more page hits that way.
First of all, Che was a "Marxist" or "Communist", and if you think that's a wonderful thing I invite you to examine history since Communist governments the world over have murdered well over 100 million people.
Communist governments are, without exception, brutal repressive regimes that destroy basic human rights and put people in prison for even being suspected of dissent against the government.
That's the kind of government Che wanted and fought...
How much he made makes no difference at all. Whether he made 15 million or 150,000 has no bearing at all on whether or not the price of games should be higher or lower than it is currently.
Would you pony up an extra five to ten bucks for a good game if it meant you could expect more good games? That's the real question. The problem with the pricing structure in games right now is that they basically all start out at the same price regardless of how much it actually took to make ...
The reason people embraced Master Chief was the same reason people so fervently embraced Ocarina of Time.
You had a system and then there was this other system that wasn't just outselling yours, but outselling you hand over fist and a metric ton of great games came out on it.
Then along came a game that was just for your system, a good one, and it justified both existence of your system and your purchase of it so you held it aloft like a shining holy platinum object ...
