A Halo game, whether it is good or bad, will be bought in droves by massive numbers of people. For good or for ill putting the word "Halo" on a game is now the same as putting "Final Fantasy" or a the picture of a comic book character that is in a recent movie. People buy it because they recognize it without knowing whether it's good or bad or any so called controversy that might surround it.
For every person that buys games that pays attentions to reviews and...
Didn't Zelda come out after Metroid?
Not knowing where to go or what to do next in Zelda was nothing compared to Metroid.
1. Shadow of the Colossus
I'd rather have Last Guardian than a remake.
2. Metal Gear/Metal Gear 2
How would fanboys handle Snake being a rookie? Not well.
3. Okami
Not that old, and was just released on the Wii
4. Half-Life
Don't we have enough good FPS games this gen already?
5. Final Fantasy 7
No. It sucked the first time, remaking it won't help.
6. Clock Tower 3...
Want to know what MMOs really need? Action. That's what that poorly written article was getting at.
If a monster fires a spell or arrow at you, then you should be able to block or dodge it through the use of your own actions instead of depending on a set of statistics to decide whether or not you got hit and how much it hurt you.
Whatever it is MMOs need a revival.
They're waiting to see if the PC version actually succeeds.
It's not going to at the rate its going. People have been leaving in droves for various reasons. Waves of bug fixes and nerfs suddenly came to an abrupt halt as they decided new powers and a Halloween event were more important than game balance or fixing bugs.
The game has a lot of potential, but no content.
Slightly less powerful hardware but enough to notice if they really push it.
Just not enough that anyone should actually care.
It's a shame that they don't send them a bill for the game too.
You will notice a quick pattern in people who steal games.
No, I don't call them pirates, I call them thieves.
Almost every single solitary game "sucks" to people who steal games. I guess that's what happens when you have no appreciation for property.
Good lord that really is a Zelda knock off there.
Age of Conan was released, saw great sales numbers, then the subscription base promptly fell to a fraction what it was at its height.
You can put "Warhammer Online" where "Age of Conan" is in the above and it will still be true.
MMOs are one of the few areas where initial sales do not matter as much as a sustained player community. We'll see where Aion is six months to a year from now.
If your game was better than GT, then you wouldn't need to constantly try to remind everyone that it is. Turn 10 can't seem to talk about their game without insisting that it's THE BEST like they have some kind of crazy complex or something.
Characters who have voices tend to be active parts of the story.
One day soon, you too will be able to steal PS3 games.
Honestly Turn 10, everyone and their brother knows that you tried, with some success, to create a Gran Turismo game for the XBox. The fact that you've produced two good games in the past shouldn't be diminished but can we cut the crap already? You know you're a GT knock off, you always have been, and you always will be.
All of that aside, we understand that after being consistently outdone by the GT series you're feeling insecure. I can understand that, if I spent as much time an...
Do you honestly think that either Sony or Microsoft would be introducing these motion control systems if the Wii were not selling hand over fist?
The problem I see here is that while the Wii did indeed start a revolution, it didn't start a revolution that the 'gamer' set was necessarily interested in. There are a lot of Wii owners out there that go "What's Metroid?" and are no more gamers in the traditional sense than all of those mothers who play Bejeweled.
What, because they make a popular 360 game they are not allowed to like and appreciate a good game on another system?
Hey Clover, yeah, Capcom here, we see you made a few interesting and creative titles... About that, we need to see you behind the dumpsters in the back.
BANG!
That will teach them to come up with new and interesting titles instead of just recreating the same game over and over again to milk a franchise.
First of all, did this Watchdog show ever do the RRoD? If not, they have some catching up to do.
Second of all, let's call Watchdog precisely what it is in some cases: It's anti-corporate group of busybodies who create sensationalist stories to stir up controversy where there is none.
Thirdly, their method for fixing things didn't even work most of the time and as opposed to showing up Sony, it actually made them look stupid. Half the consoles they 'fixed' were broke...
Gaming websites have been bashing the 360 for page hits for awhile now, do you suppose the reverse will work?
At this moment the biggest surprise they could possibly pull would be to fix the bugs and other outstanding issues they've been ignoring completely in favor of their Halloween event.
Based on the article I wouldn't expect to get that "surprise" anytime this year.
