Lol, PlayStation (as well as certain Nintendo consoles) has completely wrecked the curve on what should be considered good for console sales. Xbox One outsold the N64, GameCube, Original Xbox, every Sega system, and the SNES.
This looks like a cool niche product, but everyone is getting a bit too worked up about it.
Lol at the idea that cloud gaming is ever better than real gaming.
You mean that tech that isn't available on PS5? Weird.
Lol the later these games come out, the less justification there is for last gen versions. Sad to think about, but at this rate there will still be meaningful games launching in 2023 that are gimped for 2013 CPUs.
It would be nice if that game ends up being good. It in the absence of that, unfortunately, the problem is that especially with everything so focused on the BR fad right now, even a mediocre Battlefield game is a better option than anything else.
It's interesting that it falls so close to PS4 because I've always thought that if Sony made another handheld (they probably won't lol) it should just be a portable version of their prior generation console. That way devs would already know what to do, and people would have a massive preexisting library of games (obviously this would tick off the physical games crowd, but maybe there could be some sort of USB disc drive where you can install one disc-based game at a time). While t...
Lol this article says TLOU 2 takes 50-60 hours on average. I played through it in 25 hours, and while I could have explored more in Jackson and on Seattle Day 1 (Ellie), I certainly wasn't blazing through.
If that's the case they should explain that.
Sigh. It isn't online multiplayer only. In DICE's Q&A that just came out, they specifically talk about "Solo" mode where you play entirely against AI.

Stop saying things that aren't true.
Those games didn't advertise that you can play matches entirely filled with bots.
The thing is, it isn't multiplayer only. If it was, there would be no issue with it being always online (multiplayer only games usually are by definition). The issue here is that they advertised the ability to play matches against bots. So if my internet is screwing up or the servers go down, I could have played full matches against bots. Now I can't do that.
In Star Wars Battlefront (2004), the game is primarily designed around multiplayer. However, I can (and do) still pull out my PS2 and play matches against bots, even though it's been 15+ years since I've connected my PS2 online. If Battlefield 2042 is going to go to the trouble of allowing me to play matches entirely with bots (something not every Battlefield has had), I should be able to access them offline. This isn't a difficult concept to grasp.
I mean, in the absence of a campaign I wouldn't have expected an offline mode, except they announced that you could play matches entirely with bots. Naturally many of us assumed that since we wouldn't be playing with anyone online for such matches, we wouldn't need to be online. If they didn't want us to think we could play offline, they shouldn't have told us we could play matches entirely with bots.
In fairness they'd still have to up the scale of the multiplayer like they are, or at least compared to Bad Company 2. There are a lot of people here who remember that game fondly who would absolutely blast a game that came out today on that scale with only 24 players.
Absolute groan. I was willing to give them a pass on the lack of campaign given the ability to play matches with bots (something I'd much rather have in a Battlefield game than a tacked on campaign), but there is no reason I shouldn't be able to play against bots offline. Very stupid.
If a game is taken over by cheaters, I just wouldn't play that game. I mean that isn't even a hypothetical, I have avoided games (or specific servers of games) for this specific reason.
Yeah I guess I could see kids about 14 and under finding it funny.
I don't understand why you want to cheat in a game without tangible prizes. People will know you are cheating, so no one will respect you, and you won't enjoy the game, because you'll know you aren't playing the real game. It just makes no sense.
The funny thing about all these "Steam Deck is going to kill the Switch" articles is that the Switch will probably outsell Steam Deck in every month both devices are being sold.
