Did you get the Master Chief Collection free if you owned the old Halo games?
Unfortunately the difference between a native version of a game for current gen consoles and a patch that simply allows the last gen version to take better advantage of current gen consoles has become totally blurred. Nowhere was this better illustrated than Ghost of Tsushima. For that game Sucker Punch launched a free patch that allows the PS4 version of the game to run at a better frame rate and resolution on PS5. Then they also released a native PS5 version of the game with additional feat...
@Thatsgaming
Something has to be appealing about the console too though. Keep in mind that Nintendo owned those IP in the Wii U era, but it sold under 15 million. No one likes to talk about it, but honestly several of Nintendo's other home consoles haven't sold that well either. GameCube is estimated under 25 million, and N64 is estimated under 35 million (and those were during the PS2 and PS1 eras, respectively, so it's not like people weren't buying consol...
It's certainly already passed true Gameboy sales. People inexplicably combine Gameboy and Gameboy Color sales. Which I know to people too young to remember those systems it sounds like Gameboy Color was just a slight upgrade like Xbox One X or PS4 Pro, but it actually had its own games you couldn't play on the original Gameboy. And not just a few like that nonsensical "New 3DS." A substantial number of games.
And people always justify it because Gameboy Co...
Apparently it won't work until you enable certain data collection settings on PS5.
The problem with the "aren't people tired of zombies yet, there are so many zombie games" is that most zombie games are trash, so they get ignored.
There aren't enough good games in any genre.
Yep, pretty disappointing. I hate it when devs make a game world and tell you something like "well, we removed this feature because you wouldn't use that if you were in this world." It's like, let me decide that. Make guns hard to find and make ammo rare, and make me me suffer heavy consequences in the world when I use a gun so that it's a very measured choice to use them. Don't just remove them.
Honestly it reminds me of mirror's edge to mirro...
Lol I love the idea that you can't be excited for a new game AND want to play the old one at a decent frame rate. Also, they said they were doing a patch to take advantage of PS5 or releasing a PS5 version (the distinction between a last gen game with a patch that takes advantage of current gen systems and an actual native version of that game for current gen have gotten seriously muddled so I mention both to cover the bases).
I'm disappointed they never launched the PS5 optimization patch/a native PS5 version of the first game. I probably would have gone back and played that big DLC if they had.
@Nakiro
Maybe you've never noticed, but the truth can be funny sometimes. I'd look for that as you move forward in life, it can make things more enjoyable.
It's not a joke or trolling, it's true. My hope is that this will wake Sony up, because the Bethesda purchase apparently didn't. Their response to that was to spend over a billion on an anime streaming service, even though they already had one. There has to be a better response to this.
1. Gamepass is going to see massive subscriber increases when big Bethesda games start coming out and then when COD starts coming to Gamepass Day 1. That is one component of it.
2. They are going to cut costs by bringing publishers and studios in house. That's what these purchases are about. It's the Netflix model. Like Netflix, Gamepass has at first relied in large part on paying third parties large amounts to get their IP on the service (think back to how Netflix ...
I can't believe this is cross-gen. Based on thir release dates in their respective cycles, this is about the equivalent of if Bloodborne had been cross-gen PS3/PS4.
It probably will be eventually, but Sony probably has existing contracts with Activision related to COD for at least the next few years (exclusive content, modes, etc). After those expire, I'd assume that COD will be exclusive to Xbox/PC.
I think the better path for Sony than to try to match purchases is to start to point out to the companies that aren't getting purchased that MS is obviously following the Netflix route, which means eventually the big checks to bring third party games to Gamepass will become rarer as they focus more on the IP they own. Them buying Activision fits right in with this plan (although admittedly they weren't the publisher I expected MS to buy). As these checks dry up, except for a few third...
So disappointing they didn't make the smart move they did with the first game by ditching the outdated last gen consoles (Dying Light was originally supposed to launch on 360 and PS3 alongside XONE and PS4). When the UK numbers come out it will be interesting to see what the PS5 to PS4 ratio is now. A lot of titles last fall ranged between about 2:1 to over 3:1. My guess is that this spring we'll start seeing gaps more like 6:1 in favor of the PS5. This fall and next year will just ge...
@TheRealTedCruz
Notably you just talk nonsense about how you can't hate on a brand because you bought a few of their products, but you don't dispute that you wildly misrepresented PSNow. It's such a tired out play to misrepresent PSNow by pretending it's a primarily streaming service with a few downloads, when it's actually a download service with one section of titles that can only be streamed.
@TheRealTedCruz
So when you say "only specific titles" can be downloaded, you actually mean every PS4 and PS2 game available on the service, and when you say "the majority of legacy titles are stream only" you mean PS3 games.
I know you hate PlayStation but come on.
Lol you'd think you could assume that a game only being initially announced in 2022 won't be developed for 2013 CPUs, but with the way things are going right now, nothing seems sure. I'm sure we'll still be hearing people wailing about the "install base" of those old machines well into 2023.
