Lol I can't wait for PS6 to launch so we can finally get some games actually designed for PS5.
By far. Particularly since about 40% of the promises they supposedly made were just things the community made up from watching trailers.
Well it was designed around the same 2013 CPU Elden Ring is based on.
I was hoping for 2 Remake and RE7 to get them first, but since they are free I won't complain lol.
I mean, much is going to depend on the quality of the PS1/PS2/PSP games. Like if there are only a handful of PS1/PSP games, the only PS2 games available are from the 50ish PS2 games already available on PS4/PS5, and then the majority of the old titles are just PS3 games (which are only available for streaming and are therefore useless), it's going to be a pretty hard sell to get anyone to pay for the top tier of the service. However, a really good selection of PS1/PS2/PSP titles could get...
This game looks perfect for the Switch, but I can't see myself playing it on console or PC. Maybe I'll play it when I eventually get a Steam Deck lol.
Yeah I'm glad there is a service that is staying the same. Although as we are seeing it isn't stopping people from whining about the existence of an additional service that they don't have to ever use if they don't want to.
You can't download PS3 games, those are streaming. You can download PS1, PS2, PSP, PS4, and PS5 games that are part of the service, but not PS3 games.
Yes I'm in a similar spot. I may not upgrade (it depends what PS1 and PS2 titles are available), but it would be nice if they have a system where you could upgrade what you have already paid for (Xbox has a system for this for upgrading Gold to GP Ultimate, I believe).
Well now sites can go ahead and announce Elden Ring as GOTY.
Everything is downloadable except for PS3 games.
Yep, this is the most disappointing part. I love PS1 and PS2, but PS3 was my favorite gen. It's extremely disappointing they haven't figured out how to run these games natively. I know it's not possible on PS4 because the CPU is barely better than the PS3 CPU, but on PS5 I thought it could work.
Qustion "how many more times does game streaming need to fail horribly and reveal its inherent limitations before companies give up on it?"
Answer: Apparently at least a few more times.
I can't believe people want their games to be gimped for a 2013 CPU. Look at these actual numbers from Japan. They don't matter at all in the worldwide picture.
Hmm, buying a studio so early is an odd move for Sony. They must have been impressed with the initial work they have seen from Haven, and wanted to lock them down.
Good thing you can get it for $54 right now lol
Umm I cited facts. I always point to numbers because I've had to hear for years about how AAA games needed to be held back for the PS4's ancient CPU because they were going to sell better on PS4 for several years because of the "install base."
Actually, you prove my point about the hardcore people buying games on PS5. In fact, you help illustrate that the numbers on Horizon (even though they significantly favored PS5) were artificiallly skewed towards PS4 ...
Stranger of Paradise on PS5 outsold the PS4 version more than 4-1. The fact that every major AAA release is selling far more on PS5 (this is true of Elden Ring, Horizon, and GT7 recently, but it was even true of things like Hitman 3 and Tales of Arise last year), but Five Nights at Freddy's sells far better on PS4 should tell you everything you need to know about which audience has moved forward and which audience has stayed back.
They better get it together or people are going to start calling it Gran Turismo 2042. It's too bad too, because in this case the core game is really great, they just need to get out of their own way.
It probably sold about as much as every Killzone game put together. And that's probably estimating Killzone's numbers a little high. Although in fairness Sony got a lot better at marketing games in the PS4 era than they were during PS3.
