@STARS
I'd hardly characterize Lost Legacy as a full separate Uncharted game. Just because something can be played as a standalone doesn't make it a full release.
If anyone wants to save the time or the click, yes, this article is exactly what you expected it to be when you read the title and saw what site it is from.
Are you counting Last of Us Remastered as a Naughty Dog game for this gen?
Regardless, I think we have to start getting used to the idea of studios only getting 1-2 games out per generation.
12 years ago MS was at their peak in the games market. It's comparing similar moves between companies in similar positions.
It's just like how MS used to block cross-play (source: https://kotaku.com/i-saw-th... but no one cared, then when Sony did it, it became an outrage.
It's funny how when MS gets exclusive single player DLC for a year in GTA IV, it's smart business, but when PlayStation gets an exclusive DLC character it's bad taste and anti-consumer.
It was never particularly good. People just remember the first one so fondly because the 360 was new at the time and there were so few games for it then.
At this point I'd rather just have them agree to launch at the same price so I can just get my pre-order in (yes I realize there are legal issues preventing that).
The vast majority of people who buy it probably are unaware of all controversies related to micro transactions. Sports games are an entirely different world than what most of us occupy.
@RauLeCreuset
Consider yourself lucky; it's super annoying. I'm willing to accept that it could largely be a generational or regional thing, or possibly a combination of the two.
@Ron_Danger
You'd think they wouldn't, but unfortunately they do. I know people who will say "do you play Xbox?" And what they mean is "do you play video games" I just want to shake them and be like "PlayStation has been a massive brand for 25 years, stop being ignorant." It's like how people will call all shooters Call of Duty.

I never said XONE did as well as 360. I'm just saying it retained enough po...
Actually it's kind of a testament to Xbox's durable popularity in the US. Considering only the base consoles (since those are what have been available since day one, and they are still what most people buy), PS4 is better in every way than Xbox One, most notably in terms of exclusive games. Yet still, despite getting outsold more than 2:1 worldwide, Xbox is not that far beyond in the crucial US market. Casuals and people who don't play games at all will refer to all video games as...
Agreed, even factoring in the loss of sales due to Gamepass, this seems low.
I agree with you to an extent, in that I don't think we'll see God of War or any Naughty Dog games on PC. However, Spider-Man would not surprise me.
What I would say is that it's a waste to make it a primary focus. So if you make your game and realize that you can hit 120 fps, great. But don't start from the proposition that you need to limit your game in other areas so you can achieve 120 fps.
On the one hand, lol at that one attention-seeking dev making that 2D game who said he couldn't get to 120 fps on PS5. On the other, a very small number of people have screens that can take advantage of 120 fps. Probably the vast majority of people bragging about how game X on their favorite platform can do 120 fps don't even have a 120 hz TV/monitor.
Who could have foreseen this?
I mean, I remember in the PS3/360 gen, he favored the system with the processor that was far more powerful on paper. So this is consistent with that. I also really expect it to matter since Valve releases so many console games these days.
As a longtime PlayStation fan who is buying PS5 day one and thinks it's pretty clearly the more compelling option, I don't get the hate. Sony fans are starting to get almost as bad as 360 fanboys were in 2005-2008 (almost...all the fake "MGS4 is coming to 360" articles don't quite have a counterpart right now).
Everyone uses PC footage sometimes, especially pre-console launch. It's certainly better than before XONE launched when MS got caught showi...
@AngelicIceDiamond
I keep pointing out the same thing. Sure the show was underwhelming on the whole, but Avowed has the potential to be huge if they pull it off.
Honestly, I think a big problem is that people's expectations were thrown off by 360, which outperformed what it naturally would have done due to Sony's many, many mistakes from 2005-2007. People use 360 as a barometer for what a "good" Xbox console should do, when XONE was prob...
As much as I disagree with both of you, I at least have to give props for admitting that what you wanted was "continuing with the first game." The thing is, the first game was perfect to me. If they would have just tried to extend it with another similar story, there's no way it could have matched up. I'd have preferred no sequel at all to one that merely served as an extension of the first game.
