Final caved in and bought a WiiU today, just to play Mario Kart. :)
Now... If only work would end so I can go home and set it up!! :(
Thanks for the answers... +bubbles all round!
When I get an XB1 I'll be getting a version with Kinect. Seems crazy not to, but I was just intrigued as it seems an extra hassle to save footage without Kinect. It's actually a shame that they've had to water down their original vision so much.
Question to the XB1 owners... How is recording and screenshots going to work without Kinect? Is there already a mechanism in place to do this? I'm kinda interested as I've only every heard people talk about it working with Kinect.
One of the things I really like about the PS4 is the simplicity of a dedicated button to record / take a screenshot.
A new mode? Great! Does it automatically disappear after a few months? :)
TitanFall is the sort of game that if anyone asks me what it's like, I always say something like 'It's pretty awesome, well worth it. A lot of fun'... And then realise I've not bothered playing it since the map pack launched.

The problem is that any article that starts 'For now', 'Is it', 'Maybe' etc, and / or ends with a question mark, is almost never worth reading.
The problem with gaming journalism is that it is rarely 'journalism'. It's a bunch of poorly researched opinion pieces. Seldom do we see due diligence and journalistic integrity applied.
Most journalism hits either the fanboy extreme, or the wishy washy la...
I was being sarcastic because we get the the PSPlus updates via the EU Playstation blog every single month sooner or later, and a million other places rehash that news.
Now we're getting news about news we already knew was coming :)
I eagerly anticipate the article on June 8th, that 'Sony tweets E3 is tomorrow'.
PS4 outsold WiiU last week by a few units. WiiU beats PS4 this week by a few units.
Last week the PS3 beat the PS4, and this week the PS4 beat it by 4 units.
The bigger news is not who is beating who, but how consoles in general are selling in Japan compared to the rest of the world. Seems handhelds and other mobile devices are the important thing in Japan and consoles are almost on the decline.
A news article to tell us about news coming out tomorrow! How useful! /s
What! No Kaceytron!?! :)
I'd take this article with a pinch of salt.
A lot of more dedicated PC websites have not found the performance differential to be so great between AMD / Nvidia cards.
Isn't this the game that has a lawsuit from Wizards of the Coast hanging over it because of 'similarities' with Magic?
Rumour vs announcement for a start.
MS better have a good E3, as all this talk and rumour is getting stale.
Wouldn't they have just come out and said that it was for XB1 if that were the case? Why be shy about it? It wouldn't be a surprise to anyone as Ryse was exclusive.
I think Crytek will go multi-plat with this game. They will no doubt want to show off the CryEngine on other platforms as they can make money licensing it.
Except for the price announcement and the playful jabs at MS - the last E3 for Sony was pretty boring.
They need to massively step up the games this year.
That was at least 15minutes longer than it needed to be! <shudder>
Well, to be fair, Sony have offered easily upgradable drives for two gens now.
The portability and convenience of an external drive is really nice, and I hope Sony adds that support - but I'd hardly say Sony is trailing now!
I'm sure some people will prefer that the Sony drive is hidden away rather than another external thing.
If Sony end up offering external drive support that'll be great. If not, oh well, I'll be upgrading ...
Just a note for clarification before everyone rushes out to buy massive drives...
Although it states no power supply needed.. If you have a 3.5" external drive you will still need to use the power adapter that came with it.
MS went with USB 3.0 spec for the ports, so they cannot deliver enough juice for a 3.5" drive. (USB 3.0 is upto 0.9W at 5v for a total of 4.5W during data transfer)
Maybe you could go for a USB Y splitter and c...
Maybe PC gamers are a little more spoiled or sophisticated than their console cousins?
It's hard to say. But from what I hear it's not exactly thriving on XB1 either. No idea on 360 numbers.
After the fall from popularity of the classics like Unreal Tournament and Quake, I've never really seen an FPS on PC that had a massive playerbase over a long period. Some of the more realism based shooters do seem to have a dedicated crowd though.

I'm not signing this. I've been gaming over 30 years and this is just another necessary evolution of the industry. Eventually the industry will level out and realise what works and what does not.
Does this mean some beloved IP may end up as Pay to Win. Yep.
Does this spell the end of gaming as we know it? No.
Does it mean certain aspects of our industry will change fundamentally? Yes. And that's probably a good thing.
It's the usual launch story... Lack of compelling games to play after launch.
It is a bit disappointing, but it'll get better. Hopefully not too long after E3!
