Open world Zelda.
Open... World... Zelda!
Nothing more to be said.
Looks really nice.
Would love to see some official HDD covers released.
We've not seen enough of either to compare.
Both look like they will awesome games based on the developers track records.
Slightly odd that MS didn't have a segment for QB in their show, considering it'll be a big 2015 release.
And speculating on what Epic and Tusk might do is pointless. Can just as easily speculate that Santa Monica studio will beat them both.
Umm, you do know the glitching was intentional right? Because of the cut in to the Scarecrow!
The first time it happened I thought it was a glitch too, but you could see the stage lights were in sync with the glitches.
I agree the mid-briefing slump of Sony was boring (again - this seems like a tradition), but other than that MS and Sony were solid - neither 'won'.
Before the Uncharted trailer it clearly stated it was captured directly from PS4.
So even though it was a scripted cutscene (which are usually a bit better looking than the actual game play quality), it was not CGI.
Corinne Yu confirmed this.
Both were solid.
Sony had the usual lull in the middle, but a couple more nice surprises (LBP3, Grim Fandango, Ratchet and Clank Remaster)
MS kept a gaming focus, but just lacked any surprise at all.
Both MS and Sony had solid E3 briefings. Neither blew me away.
It was good that MS focused on games - but really, what else could they do. They can't crow about sales numbers, and they don't want to draw attention to their 180's. Also thought it was weird that they announced so much stuff early, to 'make room' in their E3 briefing - but ended up just re-announcing it anyway.
Sony opened strong, but then had their traditional mid-briefing ...
This sounds like utter PR BS.
If MS announce Crackdown 3, and show game play tonight (UK time)... I'll probably pick up an XB1 tomorrow. :) Loved the first game (although the second was a bit of a travesty)
Nice!
And hopefully some more tracks.
Is it too much to ask for a track editor as well? Probably yes, but that would be amazing.
That is rubbish. Absolute rubbish.
How are they killing it?
EDIT: Bearing in mind both PS4 and XB1 are outselling their previous gen hardware - despite the mobile gaming industry growing.
And that video gaming has had paywalls, pay to win, free to play, microtransactions, DLC, episodic content for years.
And that brainless shovel-ware made up a huge proportion of the PS2 library (and yet we still get AAA titles two gens later...
Rolling off a fairly random list of titles is easy. Why not engage in a debate / discussion instead.
How about I start...
It's interesting that Phil said they want to own what they fund.
This has actually been a negative at times in the past because devs like to keep their IP. If MS are saying they want to own the IP of anything they fund (or publish?) - they may see mixed results.
It's also interesting because In...
Nobody cares?
I do!
Mobile gaming is awesome, and I like to know if a game is a complete dud or not.
If Sony show awesome stuff, and MS show awesome stuff, and Nintendo show awesome stuff... I win!
Yes, his ability to say things is truly remarkable! /s
Roll on E3 so we can actually see if his talk on games actually delivers... I have plans to buy an XB1 next Tuesday if MS deliver at E3 on Monday.
@gameon1985
So what you're saying is that MS are starting to do what Sony has been doing for years??
Although, that comment from Phil doesn't really say much... All the big IP on XBox are owned anyway since Gears.
Also, it's not like Dead Rising or TitanFall fall under this statement, as they 3rd party developed, and I doubt Capcom or EA would want to miss out on revenue with the PS4 so far ahead in sales for the sequels... Unles...
No amount of words can defend FFXIII. It's not even that it was a bad Final Fantasy game; it was just an all round mediocre product no matter what brand / theme was slapped on it.
I would imagine PS4 fans will say Uncharted no matter what, and XB1 fans will say Halo no matter what! But I'm just guessing!!
I suspect the majority of US media will claim MS won E3, and the rest of the world will say Sony edged it.
I would think we might see about a million opinion pieces from people who were not even at E3 who will claim either MS, Sony, or maybe even Nintendo won.
But as I say... Just guessing!! :)
I take issue with the comments on Hearthstone. As a casual game there's no need to pay. Even hardcore players can take a 100% free deck up to Legendary (which has been proved many times on Twitch by streamers like TrumpSC). Is it hard? Yep. Are mere mortals likely to be able to do it? No.
Moaning about Hearthstone being pay to win is as pointless as people who moan and whinge about real life TCG's / CCG's like Magic.
I pay for a few packs of ...
I'd say I won.
Lots announced for my PS4. My recent purchase of a Wii U is completely justified with an open world Zelda, plus all the other good stuff Nintendo announced.
And eventually I'll get an XB1. Probably around the time either Sunset Overdrive or Crackdown launch (or maybe Destiny, although I'd prefer it on PS4 because of the exclusive stuff, most friends are planning on playing it on XB1).
