Bought one the day Mario Kart 8 came out. The free game offer sealed the deal. And now that open world Zelda has been announced all is right in the world.
Don't assume everyone is a fanboy.
I thought the bit about the Powers TV show was incredibly boring. And Sony spent FAR too long on the network and services part - that needed to be about a quarter the length of time. It totally deflated the briefing until GTAV and Uncharted 4.
Getting back to Xbox news... Right now, you can go to just about every gaming site, and in almost every case there's very little Xbox news on the front page.

I don't think Sony should be pushing stuff like Gran Turismo on to the Vita. They need to be picking the titles that better fit a handheld. Motorstorm fits better, because it has quick races. Playing a GT endurance race just wouldn't be sensible on the Vita.
Sony have tried to a certain extent to create new Vita exclusive IP, like Gravity Rush or Soul Sacrifice. Uncharted was solid (although I agree not up there with the PS3 offerings). T...
The cost of memory cards is ridiculous and one of the problems I see with the Vita.
With Sony pushing digital downloads - especially if you have a PS+ account, it is really annoying to have to juggle games so much.
The only upside is that it does tend to force me to finish my backlog of games so frees up space for the new ones. :)
However, if you're planning on only buying physical copies of games, a large memory card is not an issue.
I bought a Vita pretty much for Indies, and a few other more obscure titles. It's fantastic to play games like the Persona and Disgaea series on a handheld. Final Fantasy X / X2 is brilliant. I have no problems with these ports, it's nice to go back to games I have played years ago. Tearaway is one of the best new IP I have ever played. LBP on Vita is the definitive edition in my opinion (maybe until LBP 3 drops). Deception IV, is fun. Virtues Last Reward is brilliant.

Every generation the number of console owners grows. It would be wrong to deny them the chance to play a game (old or more recent), and if the publisher wants to slap on a fresh coat of paint as a bonus - then why the hell not!!
If the publisher has the budget and thinks it financially viable to release a remaster, then great. I'm all for it. No one is forcing you to buy it, and if it isn't profitable then publishers will stop doing it.

Yes... So much of an accessory that it only has 100 games in development for the next 12 months /s
I'm not a fan of parity between platforms. I think devs should strive to work to the strengths of each platform, but I can understand that budget and politics dictate.
I can't imagine what it would have been like if Commodore 64 games had to have graphical parity with Spectrum games back in the day!!
Yeah, the 'lazy devs' argument is insulting.
No developer is going to intentionally make a bad game. Unfortunately experience, ambition, budget, deadlines, bureaucracy and a tonne of other stuff often get in the way.
I doubt many devs like to hear they are 'lazy' after spending 80+ hour weeks during crunch. Not every game can be AAA!
Sony fanboys feel free to cut and paste the following:
"The graphics are not that great anyway, lazy devs"
or
"PS4 version officially gimped because of XB1"

Xbox fanboys feel free to cut and paste the following:
"XB1 hardware is just as capable of PS4"
or
"If other devs weren't so lazy, every game would...
I stated in another post before E3, that if MS had a good enough briefing I was ready to buy an XB1 immediately.
So it was in my interest to follow the news on Xbox closely. But they are just not getting the same level of press as Sony or even Nintendo now.
I would say that I have spent equal time following the news. I watched all the briefings the same day (not easy being on UK time - that 4am finish for Sony was tough :) ). I have followed the various we...
I was really surprised they showed so little on Halo 5. I guess they wanted focus on the Master Chief Collection - and thought the Halo 5 MP beta news would be enough.
I actually think this is a good idea by MS. By keeping Halo 5 news to a minimum it'll really allow the Halo collection to stay in the limelight... Although news on that title has already dropped off as well, so err, yeah...
I think the staff changes at Naughty Dog are a great thing for Uncharted 4. All the doom and gloom about people leaving misses the point - which is that more of the team who were responsible for Uncharted 2 and TLoU joined the project.
I think Uncharted 2 is the (current!) best in the series, and TLoU outdid just about everything for story-telling and drama. This can only be great news for U4.
Can't wait.
Bit of a needlessly harsh title from IGN.
Everything from the preview sounded very positive. The fact that the demo was from 2013 has little to do with it.
I watched a feature a while back from Santa Monica Studios. They talked about how ridiculously hard it is to create a demo for E3 while also trying to develop the game to meet launch deadline. Maybe Yager decided to go with an old demo to avoid having to detract from development.
Gah! I SO want to play The Witcher 3, it looks awesome - but I have really tried to get in to the first two - but can't.
No idea why.
I start playing them and just drift away after a while. It's SO annoying, as they should be my perfect game. I love RPG's, I love the themes. I've tried getting through the first one on PC about 4 times and never completed it. I tried the sequel twice, and have no idea why I stopped playing.
Fair enough. To each their own.
For me, the critical mass to buy a WiiU came with Mario Kart 8. Add in Super Mario 3D and ZombiU (a HUGELY underrated game) - and it was time to buy.
I'll pick up Pikmin 3 soon enough. Hopefully these games will see me through for a while until Smash Bros drops.
Zelda, plus the Xenoblade game are great to look forward to. I honestly wouldn't care if Zelda was a 2016 title.
Not sure the author knows what cynical means...
But I guess the title 'A pointless slightly negative look at E3 Nintendo Direct' just doesn't work as well!
Article was a PoS. May as well have just listed the things Nintendo showed.
Btw, for the author... Definition of cynical
Believing that people are motivated purely by self-interest; distrustful of human sincerity or integrity.

Graphically it looks awesome, game play looks solid. Will wait and see how it pans out.
I'd probably only be interested in one or two games on the list, but there's a nice enough mix for people.
I am certainly a little closer to buying an XB1 after MS' E3 showing - but not enough to go for it right now.
Releasing new hardware soon would be ridiculous.
The 3DS had a terrible start and a lot of people were saying it was dead. All it took was a couple of games and a price cut to jump start sales.
It won't take much to get Nintendo back to profitability. They've posted 3 consecutive losses, which is never good news, but they are far from sinking.
I do think they should consider creating some mobile games for iOS / Android - but not the...
