I said in many posts that MS had to earn my trust back after burning me with the original XBox, and after 2009 they didn't release any games I wanted to play on the 360...
I still don't trust MS 100%, but a combination of Phil Spencer and some of my friends buying XB1's made me take the plunge and I bought an XB1 about 3 weeks ago.
I have to say that I am generally impressed. It does have some flaws... I'm not a fan of the Windows 8 style UI....
Ah the old 'lazy devs' argument again
Used robustly by PS3 owners from 2006 to 2013, and XB1 owners from 2013 onwards. :)
Really? Cus I could have sworn that my fairly decent gaming PC has trouble running old gen stuff like Uncharted 3, God of War 3, or Halo 4 at 60fps... Or even 0fps
Thanks for clarifying that my PC should be able to run Uncharted 4 and Halo 5 at 60fps when they come out... Will have to give it a try once they hit a Steam sale!!!

Wow, that's harsh!! I was annoyed cus my Logitech G27 isn't supported - but that's cheap in comparison to the CSR Elite.
From what I have read, it seems that MS have gone down a different route with their haptic / feedback implementation - so there's two implications..
1. No older wheels will be supported
2. XB1 wheels will not be cross-compatible with PS4 / PC.
This really bugs me as I was hoping to just buy...
I love the racing genre but all the current racing series have their flaws to me...
The last Gran Turismo I played was 5, and I think Polyphony forgot to put the 'game' in! I was rather disappointed and I've skipped #6 as I've moved to PS4.
I'm glad Criterion are taking a break from Need for Speed and Burnout as each new NFS was becoming just a minor iteration of the last, and all I really wanted was something like Burnout 3 or Paradise. ...
I'd prefer if the price was a bit lower per pack.
As I only recently bought Forza 5 I like that it gets support, but don't like that it's easy to spend more on DLC than the original game costs.
The cynical side of me finds it annoying that Forza 5 launched with less content than previous versions - so a lot of what we're being offered as DLC is only bringing the game up to parity with older releases.
Whilst I am really enjoyin...
Yeah,. I'm normally the same. After the initial reveal / trailer I actively avoid info on games I am interested in.
I made an exception for Destiny, as I'm not normally a huge online FPS player, and I liked - but didn't love - Halo's MP - so wanted to test the water before pre-ordering.
Happy to say the pre-order is worth it.
Fair enough. I really didn't have a problem with it... The voice over was just 'there', neither good or bad.
Seems we've entered an age of nitpicking faults on pre-release software. Most people only try and get in to alpha / betas to play the game then bitch about the faults - as if the release should be perfect, rather than actually help address bugs.
We've seen as many articles about the voice over as we have about the fun game play an...
"The Order: 1886 looks to be a fabulous disappointment, with third-person cover-based shooting mechanics as generic as they come. Exclusive content for Destiny is nothing to write home about, and it’s certainly no reason to drop $400 on the console. Uncharted: Drake’s New Video Game is what it is, but it seems clear that Sony needs something more"
I'd love to see Crash on PS4, but this article gives the above reasons why the PS4 NEEDS it... What a load of bull. ...
Journalists and gamers will bend their points of view to fit whatever argument they are trying to push.
It remains to be seen whether The Order is good or not - but I hope that reviewers judge it fairly, as it seems to be the current whipping boy at the moment.
EDIT: All this talk of linearity makes it sound like a negative - but a tight, well scripted, cinematic game sounds awesome to me. The game play so far looks solid, but I'll reserve judgement unt...
I hope this means both figuratively and literally :)
For games like survival horror, and other first person story driven games - the prospect of VR is massive.
"When Did Linearity Become a Bad Thing?"
When gaming 'journalists' ran out of news to report and positive things to say...
I do not agree with some of that list...
I've been impressed by both the PS4 and XB1 since owning them both. The PS4 is the more refined and better gaming device... The XB1 is the better all-round media device with some nice features.
If I had to choose only one device for gaming - It would be the PS4. But I am certainly happy to own both for their relative strengths.
"Will our Britishness put Riot Games off coming back to London?"
No. And this has little to do with 'Britishness' and more to do with venue and size of audience.
If Riot deem it so then they will use the soundproof booths plus headsets that other eSports sometimes use.
If eSports is to thrive it needs that passionate and human element.
Chaos Terminators have a Storm Bolter with Chain blade. (Gears doesn't have anything that looks like this)
And there are chainsaw and blade bayonets for standard Bolter's too. (Which is what reminds people a lot of the chainsaw gun in Gears)
On topic: Has this game been floating around for years in development? I am positive I heard about a 40K FPS years and years ago, but it never materialised
It would appear so :)

Throw in a bit of Pulp as well and I'm good to go.
I prefer DotA 2 as a game, but prefer to watch LoL as an eSport.
That really comes down to the production and accessibility. Not just the shout casting, but also having the team / player feeds in game, and a slightly easier to follow UI. I also tend to get behind teams more on LoL because of the interviews and featuring them in the game - it gives it a more human touch.
But then there's all the stuff with The International etc with the Compendiums, whic...
Always bad when people lose their jobs like this.
I think Crytek got too big too fast. The success of FarCry and Crysis went to their heads.
As far as I can see the CryEngine was never as popular (from a licensing perspective) as other 3rd party engines.
I hope they can salvage this situation
