By the sounds of it, it is lucky for UbiSoft that they don't have a similar system to EA where games bought through Origin can be 'returned' for a full refund!
We as consumers should not be demanding apologies, they are meaningless and empty. The best thing we gamers can do is be vocal about the bugs, and vote with our wallets on future Ubisoft titles.
We shouldn't support developers / publishers who screw us over.
It seems o...
Big deal. A bad game is a bad game regardless of the graphics quality.
Would advise PC gamers to avoid unless they like RPG's where you may as well be running down a single long corridor for hours on end. Love vapid empty heartless stories. Get off on ridiculous uninteresting and often annoying characters. And also enjoy getting their spirit crushed when suddenly the game moves from a long corridor of encounters to an actual open world that shows promise but is a tiny p...
I know enough people who enjoyed The Evil Within, so yeah, my anecdotal evidence would suggest it has a place.
No one has said it was revolutionary or original, but a fun game is a fun game - and people like to play horror games for the same reason they watch horror movies - sometimes they are cheesy, sometimes scary, and sometimes they are action packed and so on.
This year we have seen a resurgence of horror titles from jump scares, to psychological horror,...
I would have to agree with this.
This gen has had one of the weakest starts I can remember. We could have easily survived another year dedicated to PS3 / 360 before the big launch of PS4 / XB1.
As it stands I have bought almost nothing for my PS3 in the last year, and very little for my PS4 / XB1 either.
2014 will definitely go down as one of the weaker years in console gaming for me.
I never really considered Elite was an MMO in space in the traditional sense. I was just excited about having a new version of Elite more than anything!
Whilst it's fair for an article to discuss the lack of multiplayer in the first public release, it glosses over the amount of positive feedback, so seems there's plenty to enjoy without needing doom and gloom articles like this.
I can't wait to play it and have my CH FighterStick and Throttle on ...
@Dark Fox.
Regarding Reach...
There was an interview with a dev where this was addressed.
I can't find the link now, but it was basically (iirc) that they only wanted to release the main storyline with Master Chief - not the side story / prequel that Reach told, or the spins off like Halo Wars.
EDIT: It is a bit of a shame, as I never played Reach, but heard it was pretty good.
Good grief these Day 1 patches are ridiculous. Especially this one, as it seems to boil down to money saving so that they avoided the need to press a second disc.
Welcome to the next-gen indeed!
Doubtful. Now there's three devs working on a staggered 3 year cycle, it would be hard for one game to influence the others as development will already be 1 or 2years in for the other games.
So a little influence may sneak in, but it's more likely that each CoD developer will go their own path.
Damn right it did. One of the most influential games of all time.
Yeah, cus that philosophy worked brilliantly for DriveClub... :) /s
Sony can take all the time they need for exclusives, as long as the final product is quality and works as intended.
They said the same thing about their 2014 E3 presentation, and that ended up a lame duck.
So I will take this info with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise. All I am really hoping for is a concrete release date for the new Gears of War.
I don't think they are being overconfident. I'm sure they would have loved the DriveClub launch to be perfect, and had The Order to release in time for the holidays. Unfortunately that didn't pan out so they are going with what they have.
There is no need at this stage for a price cut or heavily discounted or gimmicky bundles
Sony has never let me down with the quality or quantity of exclusives over the life time of their consoles - but holiday ...
Mr. Vagina. You are correct sir.
Exactly. You're reading it right. Apparently according to the conspiracy theorists, Sony wanted to spend millions developing a game with faulty servers / online play just to pad their bottom line with millions of PS+ subscribers who ONLY joined to get DC PS+ edition for 'free'.
Seems more likely to me that Evolution only carried out synthetic tests on the servers (emulating the load they might face instead of doing a widespread real word alpha / beta like Bungie...
Scam?
Ridiculous!
I won't defend this clusterfuck launch, but think about what you're saying...
What would realistically earn Sony more profit...
1. Ploughing millions in to DC, and then selling it to happy customers who signed up to PS+, or pre-ordered, and new customers who see like the look of a perfectly working game.
Or,
Ploughing millions in to DC, while all along intending to s...
To answer that I think it's because no one knows who this 'peaceful majority' really is.
If the BBC wanted to get the counter opinion, who would they approach?
No one has stood up as the voice or face of GG. No one has become the identifiable centre of the organisation.
So it's easy for news sites to go to people like Quinn etc, they are a phone call and tearful interview away.
Even as a gamer who believes th...
Yes it does discredit it. If any individual - whether they agree with Gamergate or not - has to REALLY look at what it stands for, and to do so wade through news of rape and death threats to get to the beating heart of what Gamergate thinks it stands for then you're probably doing something wrong and are discredited.
If Gamergate had an individual willing to stand up as the face of the campaign, and was promoting more discussion on topics such as ethics etc, then fair en...
I'm not expecting much! :) But I am hoping what's there is more than brief cut-scenes this time.
There was another article somewhere from a dev stating they are going for a different kinda take on the story telling for the DLC. Who knows what that might mean.
I really hope the story driven parts are more meaty than the base game provided.
Overall for the amount of content £19.99 price point seems expensive.
I expected at least 3 more Strikes as these appear to be the main thing to do once hitting level cap.
Despite being a supporter of Destiny and loving the game, I expected more of Bungie for this DLC. Not sure if it's the Activision influence.
The recent article where ...
I'm not a fan of 3D in games or movies - but I'm glad these tech things come along now and again. It's good when a company tries to be disruptive and change the market for the better. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
