@NuclearDuke
It works kinda like this...
A tax break allows businesses to employ more talent. Talent that may go elsewhere (other countries for example) if they feel they are getting a raw deal.
Allowing companies to create more jobs means more tax ultimately comes in to the economy.
For example - lets Say UK Developer A employs 10 people and makes an average game that sells 100,000 units
Now, lets say tax b...
@ iamsuperman "That is what you get with a conservative government"
I may be wrong, but I'm sure it was Labour, during their 13 years in power, who removed the last few breaks the game industry had. It wasn't until 2010 that Labour mentioned anything about new tax breaks - and at best that was a pyrrhic victory, as everyone knew by this time that Labour were sinking fast, and had created a budget designed to win votes, not help the economy.

I would also add:
Death Worm
Myth Defense : Light forces
And whatever is the latest game from Kairosoft, as they are always good (Grand Prix Story was the latest I played)
Ah, a 'cup half empty' type of person.
Nothing wrong with creating a game, launching it, and moving on.
No manufacturer (1st party included) has managed to make a perfect controller this gen.
They all have flaws.
I'm not a fan of the offset thumb sticks or their feel, they seem a bit, well wrong to, but the triggers are excellent. I have NO idea what Sony were thinking with the L2/R2 triggers on the DS3. Whyyyyyy Sony whyyyy??? Luckily I bought some of those trigger caps that change the profile of the buttons on the DS3 triggers - makes it a great contro...
Think your comment sums it up for me too!
Will probably try the new FPS XCOM as a rental, but not excited about it so far.
If people didn't buy it, Capcom wouldn't do it. It's simple.
Why blame Capcom for taking advantage of these suckers.
I would say LBP. Because it's great, and there is nothing even remotely similar to it on any other platform.
In an ideal world that may be true.
But the reality is they will ALL be given just enough attention to ensure the product ships on time with no show-stopping bugs or major issues.
It'll then be patched to remove more minor bugs and add a few optimisations if possible.
I would say...

None of the big developers have really impressed me, because they have the budget and the backing to produce excellent games, so I don't expect anything less!!
Japan was always seen as important to the world market because there was so much development talent over there. They were also the first market to really see an explosion of the console market.
But as a sales territory Japan is a country of around 128million people, and in electronics is mainly dominated by national brands. So while I do not agree that MS failing in Japan is because they are an American company, they will have a harder time breaking through in this particul...
The only people who say Mario 64 is overrated, are those people who did not play it AT THE TIME!
If I play it now, sure it has issues with camera, sure it's a little easy... but at the time of release it was revolutionary.
Lens of Truth etc and fanboys are gonna have an amazing time counting frames, pixels, pop-in etc when Rage launches... I dunno when they're gonna get chance to actually play the game!!!
"when I end up seeing that the PSV and PS3 are the same price, I will go for the bigger console with more features."
Wow, that explains the meltdown I had in a Sony store... The HDTV was BIGGER, but the Vaio had MORE FEATURES. But the price was THE SAME!!
I couldn't cope, and went home to eat crayons.

Yeah, we had a similar thing. It had like 10 games built in, and wired analogue sticks - I'm pretty sure it was an Intellivision, but never been able to find a picture of the box we had. (Still got it in a cupboard somewhere)
It had about 5 variants of Pong (called Football, tennis, hockey). Basket ball (bounce a square off a rectangle and in to a 'net' made of two other rectangles), and a shooting game. Don't remember the other couple of games, but you get...
Must be something from late 70's, I remember playing PacMan, Kangaroo, Pole Position, ET and others on an Atari VCS / 2600 but not sure the year. But we also had an Intellivision multi-game thing, with Pong (and many variants) which was a bit older than the VCS.
And we got a Comodore Vic20 in 1980 or 81, and I remember playing some awfully pixelated games (and typing a LOT of lines of code from magazines to run really poor games - or more often than not see them fail wi...
Steam should enforce terms to the publishers that state any game they want to sell through Steam should use their DRM rather than the original.
I find Steams DRM less intrusive and annoying (as far as DRM goes), and I hate it when I sign in with Steam, launch a game and have to sign in again for a different service (Splinter Cell Conviction had this)
Now and again (especially in GAME) I see used games costing MORE than the same game sold brand new as a deal or budget release in the SAME store. Ridiculous!
The riots and thefts were probably great news for MS - they can count the stolen 360's as sold and also count the insurance replacements for the stores too, in the same way they do with the multitude of warranty swap outs.
Expect MS to announce a bumper August in the UK!

Steam says otherwise. Their DRM model is a lot more tolerable.
I see no benefit to the end user to have DRM in place on a single player game that restricts them from playing that game if they are not connected to the internet.
If a company like Blizzard feel they HAVE to have an always on connection to allow certain aspects of the game to work (like the Auction House'), then I would be happy to not have access to those bits while playing in offline mod...
