This is so true. The Verge had a great article about the state of gaming.
This is all under the assumption that Sony will handle this correctly and be able to implement it well. They're a hardware company, software hasn't been their strong suit
This is interesting, I wonder what they will do.
Sony happened.
What does Microsoft charging for Online have to do with my internet bill?
Overages for a 300 GB cap a month is robbery. While Live is a one time payment every 12 months and I get billed for my internet every month.
I just wish ISP's understood the problems of a gamer.
Mature gaming is kinda subjective.
Many gamers consider Nintendo childish and not mature while Sony and Microsoft is a "real gamers" console.
The gaming perception is changing and that is good but it will be divided due to gamers fighting amongst each other about mobile gaming, and casual vs hardcore, etc.
Not a bright future for my internet bill... Why Comcast must you have a data cap. It isn't fair.
FF VII Remake?
But in all honesty this is the holiday game I am most looking forward to playing. I already ordered my limited edition version. Nov. 6 couldn't come faster.
Good read actually.
I was surprised Sony beat out Micrsoft but I enjoyed the article very well good writing.
The second half will leave my wallet an empty item.
Unless Sony is willing to pay my internet bill this won't be a standard and only an option for some consumers with unlimited bandwith.
It should be used for demos so we don't waste hard drive space but other than that it is really cool technology that isn't ready for mainstream.
I would love to have all of that but the reality is that console gamers aren't willing to pay for all those features.
They want cutting edge technology but aren't willing to spend $600+ for it therefore the games will look very good but I wouldn't expect 1080p 60 fps as a standard or 32 v 32 multiplayer outside of a few games.
What is this misconception that you can just pick CoD up and be decent at it?
Do you know how many people are still bad at that game who have been playing for sometime.
It's map knowledge and anticipation and that is skilled based.
Thanks. I'm going to school for Finance and Marketing.
MS Onlive aquisition on the way!
Obviously?
Haven't all the companies been doing the same thing? I thought it was common knowledge that you need years of R&D and testing to come out with a console.
Hopefully this translate to a 2013 release but if I were Sony I would do this:
04/04/2014 brings the PS4 with Uncharted 4, Killzone 4, God of War 4, Skate 4, The Sims 4. The 4 has arrived.
But it was an option before as well as actually thinking it was to replace all gaming is slightly ridiclous.
I'm sure you you looked back you will see many a fans saying the entire idea of cloud gaming is stupid but now that Sony is invloved it has become the saving grace.
There is clearly a perception on this website that if it made by Sony or done by Sony than it is great lacking flaw and the next best thing.
But that is all just ...
Am I the only one realizing that suddenly overnight gamers have not only warmed up to cloud gaming but now are embracing it because of Sony purchasing Gaikai.
I really wonder when haters will stop the jargon.
Did it really mean that much to you that you had to click on CoD article and say that?
I'm just curious because I never understood that.
Will Sony actually pull this off into something that the consumer will actually want. Too often has companies been bought and it either takes a long time to be implemented or when it does it isn't as good as the original.
That makes me very happy actually. I would also love a firing range 2025 but that won't happen.
It was a smart move indeed. Now does Sony have the infrastructure and poise to pull this off correctly is the issue.
