Wait for the 4G/Price cut.
Sony has already sold the hardware to the stores so why would they care. The stores themselves are cutting profit margins.
I would like to see a $50-$80 cut of the Vita from Sony so I can rationalize getting one. And offer 5-10 buck games that don't break the wallet but to get back on point this story makes no practical sense.
The time and expectation has changed though.
I think launch line-up at least there aren't many console quality games outside of Uncharted.
Most of these games have look a likes on iOS and Android. Are they as good, i doubt it but they are considerably cheaper.
The Vita has promising titles coming out for it such as CoD, Bioshock, Ruin, future EA sports titles. But I would like cheaper quicker fun games that don't break the wallet.
Dedicated Handheld games are just way too expensive and only a handful of games are truly worth the price that they are.
I love the games I just refuse to waste 30-50 bucks on games that are not console/PC based.
Shame I really want to purchase a 3DS/Vita
By 2014 I see dedicated handheld games being a niche group and not worth it to build them anymore.(My personal opinion)
David Jaffe makes a very valid point. The Twisted Metal series is now only coming to the current gen consoles and needs all of the support it can get. I personally will be buying it new but I have no problem with that.
Also this hurts renting services as well because it makes it harder to make a decision on whether this is a buy or not if they are blocked out of the multiplayer part of the game.
Those who think Wii-U isn't next gen based on unannounced specs and how it won't be as powerful as the other consoles are going to be missing out on a promising device by Nintendo.
I assumed "hardcore" gamers owned all systems and played as many various games as there wallet would allow.
I can't wait
"I Don't Want A PlayStation 4 Reveal"
It doesn't matter if YOU don't want it many of us do. It's 2012
Yes Sony that is what we want. A video editor for the PS3. The killer App we have all been looking for. How could you not choose it now that it has a video editor.
Cloud gaming is here to stay.
The casual market will eat it up because you can have inexpensive hardware and for only ten bucks you play on any platform of choice.
Those who deny these odds are stuck in their own ideologies of hardcore gaming means you need a disk.
If applied well and with the help of IPs Onlive could be a good viable source of gaming.
I don't understand why people are against more competition in the gaming sector. It wouldn't kill consoles but rather make them think more about their business models.
Competition drives the industry.
Mario Party 10 for Wii-U Launch Title??
Please!!!
Competitive Online Matchmaking!
Your argument makes so sense at all.
Are gamers anti-social?
At least Co-Op would be a plus in a game like this. You and a mate beating the odds and surviving for hours on end. Sounds like a good time.
100 mbps up and down
I'm ready for the Onlive Revolution!
My pick: Sony London makes sense. Have been dormant since 2006.
Onlive has a bigger reach working on almost all tablets, computers, laptops, and phones.
By the end of 2013 all phones and tablets will be at or beyond the Vita's horsepower.
99 cents game for the causal and for $10 a month hardcore games for the hardcore. Once Onlive picks up some steam it will be a force to reckoned with.
It will have a roadblock in America though because the network isn't quite there to sustain the network along with...
By the end of 2013 almost all phones will be more powerful than the Vita and with 99 cent games and it being multi purpose and sporting a 4G connection and now having the backing of Onlive I see it hard for Vita to live longer than 3 years at most. Sure it will have its players but not enough to warrant developers to actually support the system.
Only time will tell I guess.
It will be outpaced and out preformed by phones soon. It needs a price drop or it wont be no contest.
A $300 Vita 3G
or
A $300 Dual A15/Quad A9 with 4G
It won't catch mainstream.
