As a dramatic writer I am bias but I say why not. Writing is an art form and it brings depth into the game if done well.
But it shouldn't be thrown into everygame but for RPG I see no reason to not have them in there.
I completely agree. They are expecting to take over one of if not the best first person shooter franchise and build upon it without killing what made the shooter who it is.
So far it seems like they have done a good job but it has to be a tough job non the less.
Articles like this are almost as worst as why you should have one console over the other one.
People are going to buy the console they want to buy and you aren't going to sway them either way.
Also Sony doesn't need to beat Microsoft and Microsoft doesn't need to beat Sony. At the end of the day you should buy both consoles for their exclusives and buy multiplatforms on either the one that performs better or the one where your friends play.

1. Bring back more USB ports. I think that you can afford to have two in the back as well.
2. Wireless N. This is 2012 and you are still rocking wireless b/g. Sony should be ashamed.
3. 250 GB Hardrive minumum. Scrap the 160GB model and have 250/320.
Now that is all nice and fine and all but I think what everyone is not really seeming to grasp is that internet is not where it should be at for this to even be a standard it will only be an option.
MS in their leaked documents will release cloud gaming in 2015 when things can be more stable.
MS doesn't have to jump the gun because they don't know how the general public will handle cloud gaming so why invest heavily into something that isn't ...
The reason it is free is because of how the Chinese model handles games. Nothing to be jealous of. Actually I don't think we are jealous.

If graphics are your allure I would very much say that you become a PC gamer and I'm sure you already are.
I don't think they would be allowed to buy Onlive because that would throw up a red flag you can't monopoly an entire market.
Also Microsoft has no need for Onlive so it owould be a wasted purchase on Sony part just to prevent a purchase that is very unlikely to happen.
I do expect Sony to put this on their TV's and Laptops and gaming systems, would only make sense.
I think we all should wait and see what Sony is actually going to do and see how they pull this off before we give them the win already.
The internet isn't ready for such a revolution yet but if they back catalouged PS1+PS2 games that are less graphical and would take less bandwith I would be down.
This is my most anticpated game of the holiday season and besides Black Ops II there is no game that I will put more time and effort into.
I agree digital is a vital option but these publishers need to lower their prices.
There is no reason why they should be charging $60 for games and I find it an insult that 6+ months out you still charge $60 for a digital title.
It means as of likely a $199 PS3 and final revisions before this is the final model to be sold while the PS4 is sold as well.
They are a company and are in deep compeition. Sony and Sony fans alike are the first to praise their many exclusives but respectivly aren't getting the sales to represent the hype or acclaim.
Now unless you are into business or finance or just a number fanatic I don't think you should look too deeply at the numbers but sales matter very much to a company such as sony who profitable section is SCE.
I never understood why people compare two separate games of different caliber and then decide on the two.
Why not just buy both of them and judging games on leaked information is clearly the logical thing to do right? Right.
Microsoft has to launch the Xbox 8 it doesn't have to be a graphical powerhouse it can play games at 30fps at 1080p and be a multimedia device come out at$299 and the living room is theirs.
Microsoft has the ecosystem that can't be matched. They have basically Xbox into a branded service and not hardware. Xbox brand will be everywhere in their ecosystem.
And are you willing pay much money for such a machine? Well even if you were the consumers aren't.
That would be a $700+ console with uncontrollably high heat.
We don't know how they will use it but I wouldn't hold my breathe they are a hardware company. But we will all have t wait and see I suppose. Should be interesting.
Running a 6000 series GPU. That is surprising but then yet again not exactly since the 7000 series is out now and 8000 is to be released Q1-2 2013.
If developers are willing to code for this machine should be a good jump from the current consoles. i can't wait to pick mine up.
