Is it really that serious to you? I stated fact that MS has the ecosystem no one else has. Example: 90% PC market 35% Console market. And all Windows 8 coming together.
Also you don't have to pay royalties to Sony because Sony didn't make blu ray it was made by a foundation that included Sony.
Smart Glass is very promising and unlike the the competition MSFT has the ecosystem to pull this off and it extends far more than gaming.
Is this even a question? Of course it can. If it launches at $200-$300 the 3DS and Vita will be in big trouble. Not even a need for an arguement or a battle.

1. Yes Sony stated they will back catalouge their PS1+PS2 titles.
2. This doesn't solve BC it is a work around as you would have to pay for this service.
3. No the internet isn't ready for PS4 caliber games to be streamed, if at most it would be an option.

1. They need to supply demos for all the digital games so the consumer isn't throwing away their money on a game they can't resell.
2. Lower the prices. There is no reason why on the PSN there are games worth $60 let alone still at that price point 8 months later.
A console quality Call of Duty game on mobile? There is no mobile platform which could capture call of duty like a big screen could.
So Sony will you still charge $60 for digital titles or whatever the new price of games will be? I would be in for an all digital movement if it meant cheaper games.

PC has effectivly made that switch just about and mobile is only digital and laptops are losing the optical drives and going digital as well.

It is easier to stream older games that are less graphical and will take up less bandwith. No need to stream huge AAA titles that will eat away at your data cap very quickly. We aren't ready for such a future yet.

Now I will purchase Black Ops II and I will be very excited to play but I think this game should be alarmed that Halo 4 is showing its strength and out performing it in pre orders by such a large margin.
33% of sales are now digital. The signs show people going digital. Just because you don't find it a viable option doesn't make it true.
Also digital is better for consumer. Look at PC. The games are cheaper.
