I agree somewhat that it would be interesting for gaming to evolve into something more than a controller input, but for the most part, I don't see it happening with Kinect.
While that idea you stated does sound good, how many games would actually be able to do that? The first thing in mind would be RPGs (mainly thinking along the lines of Mass Effect and Dragon Age). And even that was limited to only being simple voice commands to your squad-mates, (which in truth could...
Insane that people would disagree with this comment. What this guy said is very much the case. I would even add that people were going to get the system anyways. Even going off of the pre-orders, people were still lining up to get a Xbox One, (which backs up this guys comment).
With this gone now, I wouldn't be surprised if MS went even further as to announce a $399 SKU without the Kinect or just drop the price to match Sony. If that happens, I could see it outselling...
I doubt it, I think this will pass over just like the PSN hack that happen back then. Give it a month or two people most likely won't even care anymore and be happy just to game.
I'm surprised they did this so soon. I was expecting this to happen at like Gamescon or something. Good to see that they figured out one of their F' ups. I wonder they'll drop the mandatory Kinect and drop down to $399 to match Sony.
Isn't the title kinda misleading?
He never specifically says X1 to PS4, just "platform to platform". That could mean 360 - PS4 for all we know.
I didn't think this would take off, but now it's getting interesting. I won't get excited yet though, let's see how this shapes up and then decide to be excited or not. But none the less, this will be interesting...
Having a PS4 is becoming more and more of a must by the day.
I'm also watching this one very closely as it seems to be very interesting... They are really stuck in a hard place.
1. If they continue to develop this game for Xbox One and release it, despite the DRM and the region lock, they would most likely be labeled as hypocrites/sellouts by their fans and that they did it for the extra money.
or
2. They stopped development of the project on Xbox One until MS revises or simply gets rid of thei...
Still think it's a mistake what they are doing with GT6 not being on PS4 and instead launching on PS3 only.
Thanks for posting this, I wish more poster would just post the actual "thing" you want to know. Like, if it's an article like, "Sony's new game is...", rather just put the name of the new title with the article showing are news and info on the game in the article.
They haven't confirmed if you do or don't yet. Someone did a translation of the live letter from the producer that talks about it:

Looks insane, hopefully when released for US/EU, it will support dual-auido to have the original JP voice acting.
Yeah, I agree with on you the "talk the talk" thing, but they do have to eat, so it's whatever I guess.
lol, I don't know why you would be so pissed about it going multiplat for next gen. If anything this is more a slap in the face for people who solely bought a PS3 and have been waiting, since it was announced to be *PS3* exclusive, now have to get a PS4 or Xbox One to play the game.
Not to mention, given Square Enix's financial state, it would make sense to do this. But I do agree that since there is a little bit of a difference in specs for next gen, how the develo...
Hopefully it comes out Q1 or early 2014. This game will be the sole reason for keeping my PS3, until the PS4 version comes out.
I think this is more bad on Sony's part for not trying to lock down the games. But at the same time, I'm not really surprised ever since XIII went multiplat.
Now I just wonder if it will support SATA 3 to fully take advantage of SSD tech. If it does, then Sony just made my day again and I will have a 250GB(+) SSD ready to install on my PS4 when I get it.
I feel like I'm in the minority that was sold when hearing FFXIV coming to PS4. All the other points were dam good, but that's all I wanted to hear to make me solidify my purchase of the system.
Regardless, I hope Sony supports PS4 well in the upcoming years. And going off their record with PS3, I'm sure they will. I only wish Zipper Interactive would of been there with us for next-gen.
- Also to add, Naughty Dog nor The Last Guardian was there...
Wasn't that running on PC though? So wouldn't it be the PC messing up?
THIS
Thank you Sony and SE, all I wanted is PS4 version of XIV. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not sure if it was my computer that was lagging trying to play the video or just the game not running as good as I thought it would on PS4. If it's the second, I hope they smooth out these issues before launch. Has me worried though, especially after reading the DF article on PS4 titles.
EDIT: spelling
