I was hoping Summoner would of been like FFXI summons (look wise), but I'll wait and see to say my final thought.
Hopefully it will have more impact and meaning instead of just getting a codex or a small appearance/side quest in Dragon Age 2 if you imported a fully completed save from DA: O, (including all carry over DLC).

Dragon Age: Origins is probably the only recent game I can think of that always has me laughing with the dialogue.
I'm constantly refreshing the offical beta forums and /r/FFXIV hoping to see an offical announcement of Phase 4. Massive withdrawals indeed.

Yes there is a community, but a very small one. It's the same case with White Knight Chronicles 1/2. Both MAG and WKC I've played heavy enough to say they had a very small community that most likely didn't warrant Sony paying the money to keep the servers going for any longer. It sucks, but it happens when it's a case like this.
If anything, I'm more surprised that MAG is being shutdown much later than WKC was. IMO, it should...
MAG is barely alive now these days. Domination is only playable early AM hours (CST) when the JP players get on and that only last a few hours. Only thing going on is Sabo or Suppression.
Lucky to get an Interdiction or Acquisition going.

I'm not going to fall for the trick again. When it comes to online JRPGs that come to US/EU, they're usually months to years behind in updates compared to Japan's servers and then eventually get shutdown. Happened in PSO ep 1/2, Phantasy Star Universe and White Knight Chronicles. It was worst for Phantasy Star Universe since you had to pay a subscription to play online, A subscription that both US/EU and Japan had to pay, yet Japan still had over a year's worth of updates/...

Or maybe people are buying FFXIV because they liked FFXI and/or wanted play a new MMO? I'm pretty sure FFXIII had no bearing on their decision to buy FFXIV ARR, seeing to how it's not even remotely the same game.
No lets see it go even more back to it's roots and bring back the JRPG era. Seeing to how Sony owns the IPs of Dark Cloud, Legend of Dragoon and Rouge Galaxy, it would be nice...

After the Digital Foundry article on PS4, I'll wait until it comes out and we actually see the game to be the judge, so far though, not looking good.
Still need more detail on the party chat, as in how many people will be able to be in a party chat, Can you use it while in-game, what new features will there be (being able to share video/screenshots in the chat), etc...
