Oz wasn't saying the PS3 customers had to pay for it, he was saying Sony & developers have to pay for it.

For the moment I'd take it as a rumour. But it's not implausible either.

I doubt a further delay will push the Sony faithful over the edge. I've been wondering since the Spring '06 delay exactly what it takes to sour the Sony faithful...and I'm guessing they would actually need to purchase the console and discover it's total crap before they feel burned.

And no, I'm not saying the PS3 is total crap. I'm saying that's what it would take to turn the Sony faithful.

You can't say "the next-gen starts when we say so", you can't make such a huge deal about high-definition gaming, and then prevent hi-def from being played right out of the box.

You've got to admit, that guy has balls. "Those consoles are way too expensive...you should wait for ours, which costs twice as much."

With component cables movies will currently output at up to 1080i, games can go to 1080p.

The problem is not with the hardware, it's with the proposed protection from piracy. But that hasn't been instituted yet, and it doesn't look like it will be for several years.

Ps3 owners face the same issue if they have a tv with components only.

I've got to admit I was suprised by the lack of a crowd. I got there at 9:30 and secured one, my brother went to a different location at 9am and he was first in line.

And out of the eight people in line, half were already planning on reselling the thing.

This was not as hardcore as the 360 pre-ordering. It will be interesting to see what happens come release day. Will there be campers? Massive ebay sales? From what I saw today, it almost felt like there we...

I was 6th in line, out of 8 at that store. My brother got 1st in one store.

I believe managers/employees get first crack at them. Then it goes to the list.

I was going to sell some games today, by coincidence...so I don't mind leaving my 100 dollar credit as a pre-order for a month. I will definitely be reselling it, though.

He's got old information with regards to the 360 being able to output 1080p. And it is known now that a digital connection is possible with the 360, just not implemented as of today.

But what's interesting to me is that, in the world of game consoles, watching movies was ranking so high in the decision-making process. This negatively affected both the Wii and the 360. And why? Everyone I know prefers a standalone player, to save wear and tear on their gaming console. Movie ...

The discussion of Sony's stock going down because of the PS3 "issues" is actually a classic example of misdirection. Sony's stock is going down because of the laptop battery recall, and the enormous loss that represents.

Resetting at TGS could be a software or a hardware issue, but at present it's not a known issue. The battery recall is the known issue.

How about water? I was going to play underwater, would that be a problem?

I mean, what an odd article. It's played indoors. At least specify how much sunlight would be a problem.

That's really all I can say. The console business is a tough nut to crack, but Microsoft, in my opinion, has clearly done their homework and they're in it for the long haul.

And who wins? Gamers!

I have to agree. I go back and forth on buying a Wii on release day, but I'm leaning more towards waiting and seeing what people's opinions are of it before I plunk down my cash. These image comparisons didn't inspire much confidence.

Sony used to mean quality, but this battery fiasco is just awful...and what's worse, it's long and drawn out. Sony should have recalled themselves, as it is they're letting their names get further sullied every three-four with a new recall notice.

He's a good speaker, kind of reminds me of Peter Moore. I was originally going to ask why you were posting an interview from May 10th...then I saw it was from Europe.

But an honest way of speaking about the disappointment he felt with the delay in Europe....I respect that.

I mean, personally I feel Nintendo is taking a good approach...they're going to have load of them available, and if the gameplay is fun they'll sell millions. I'm looking forward to Zelda and a new Animal Crossing. And that's why I thought it odd that I got the sense of foreboding when reading this article.

It's great news if they have that many...we'll just have to wait and see how the games are.

Because you want one. Stop the comparisons already! What irks me more than anything is comparing a system that's not out yet to a system that is...and yet stating one is superior over the other?!?

And the pricing comparisons are just ridiculous. The 360 does not need to be compared feature by feature, there are great games on the 360 that you won't see on the ps3 (and vice versa). And games are the primary reasons you buy a gaming console.

This article, oddly enough, gave me a flash of uncertainty....kind of like a Gamecube deja vu. Like they're trying to sell as many as they can right away, then it will vanish.

I'm thinking that's unlikely, but it was still a strange feeling to have over such an incredibly positive article.

When I bought the 360, I bought the warranty with it. And I think that if you're purchasing untested products, that's just the sensible thing to do.

With the Wii and the PS3, and considering the shortages that will occur, I've got no problem sitting on the sidelines for a bit. At least until some game catches my eye that I can't live without.
