No price drop because at present there's no need for one. You can't walk into a store and buy a ps3. You'll see a price drop around April/May.

I'm curious about this as well, Dj. I have a ps3 but it's still in the box...from what I've read I may as well sell it and maybe buy one a year from now. Have you had a positive experience with your ps3?

But the whole point of Live is to be part of a community, and a community has rules. One of the rules is no modding. If you're modding, I certainly don't want to play against you.
I got one on launch day, but with the lackluster reviews I refrained from opening it. I'll sell it for xmas cash and buy one later when they've expanded the game library (maybe).
I asked this earlier, but after reading the article I'm now even more confused. The article seems to imply that yes, it will upconvert dvd movies...but only if you are using a vga cable?
The bottom line is that there are still no ps3's on the market...so how is that supposed to bolster blu-ray sales?
That being said, I'd take the Batman hd-dvd over the Xmen blu-ray any day of the week.
Nice trailer that whets your appetite by showing interesting things without letting you see the gameplay. The assault rifle we knew about. But the pistol looks like the original Halo pistol, which is great because the pistol in Halo2 was worthless, even when you dual wielded them.

Does it up-convert regular dvd's?
I'm an adult, and I find it to be fun. Truthfully, I think it might be a little complicated for kids. But I do agree that there needs to be games for kids on the 360.
I think it will be close, but MS will get there. We're talking Europe and the US, with only one console being readily available on store shelves this holiday season.
That being said, MS really needs to pull out all the stops. Sony is basically selling on name brand alone; as their competitor you need to get your AAA games to market ASAP. Telling people that the best games are on their way is the same thing Sony is doing.
Gears of War and Viva Pinata are outsta...
Viva Pinata is a game I was looking forward to for a long time, so I was glad that it lived up to expectations. I only wish my garden were larger, but you are able to create multiple gardens using the same funds, so that point is somewhat moot.
But I really like the characters. My dragonache and macaraccoon are here to stay.
Yes, the 360 is readily available on shelves and the other two consoles aren't. But it should still be noted that the 360 continues to sell...I think it's unfair to say "of course it's selling more!" without an understanding as to why it's selling.
Let's face it, if the 360 was a crappy console it wouldn't be selling. The fact is that the 360 is a very good console, with the best online service and a solid library of games.
I think we can all agree that the PS3 launch has been a disappointment. Extremely limited number of consoles, lackluster games...and it can't be said Sony didn't have time to prepare for this.
As for the Wii, there appears to be a few good games (Zelda, Trauma Center), but the Wii gets a little more slack for not being overly hyped.
As for the 360's launch, there's still games I play from it. I liked Kameo, PGR3 was a good racer, COD2 I feel is better than COD3...
I totally agree with you, I miss the rumble too. But I know some other consoles that happen to have it.
But I'm guessing there will be a collectors edition with a rumble-enabled controller.

In the end, it doesn't matter. This has to be the worst launch I've ever seen. Do you see people selling on Ebay are barely breaking even? There are stories of people returning their console because they can't resell?
I have one of these, and I've had an ad in the local classifieds for the past week that says make an offer...and I've had zero responses. This is Christmas season, yu can't find these in stores, I didn't even set a price, and I've got zero responses.
