probably just fine to see how much an impact microsoft's price adjustment actually has before making a decision. if the impact of the price delta actually proves pretty substantial, you don't think sony could just as easily flip the switch and match? but why race to the bottom if you don't need to? it's not confidence, but prudence, to use a wait and see approach given their lead.
COD release is like the official start of the holiday gaming season. Looks like a high quality effort by Sledgehammer at least. Hope the 3 year cycle bears good fruit for those at IW/Raven and Treyarch as well.

might have believed that on day one or maybe even week one, but this is just straight up broken. people who did buy the game are not even able to play it, let alone the Plus people. makes battlefield's issues look benign in comparison.
probably more like incompetence, unfortunately. they gained nothing from being untruthful. i might have believed a conspiracy theory around delaying the Plus edition a day or a week to squeeze out a few impatient customers, but at this point it's obvious that this is an actual technical clustertruck and that they simply are unable to provide what they set out to...
i hope the studio survives this. but when you are given a whole extra year of time (and budget) and then end dragging the reputation of the entire platform down like this? poor guys have to be feeling some intense heat right now.
i think the writing is on the wall unfortunately. when your boss has to step in to speak on your behalf, that's not usually a good moment in the career department... i do hope this finds a happy ending somehow... but the outlook is certainly bleak.
and btw everyone, the AA is medium quality (maybe like 8x FXAA) or something. doesn't mean the textures and other graphical features are necessarily medium quality.
a lovely, thoughtful and creative game. i imagine it will pop quite nicely on that Vita OLED as well. much more involved and varied than the than black ink on blank white world stuff that they often show in demos and stuff. a very impressive first game from giant sparrow.

love background update downloads... so satisfying to fire it up and see it was already fully downloaded and ready to go. thing took all of 90 seconds start to finish (helps i have an SSD in there for the quick reboots and database rebuilds...)
impeccable sound design. i'm not going anywhere near silent hills after that. made the mistake of playing it remote play in bed in pitch black. by the 3rd time i get pissed on by lisa it's like my eyes are imagining her in the corner of my actual room. and why is there actual piss on me now? freakin terrifying.
i actually think the move to x86 gives them an opportunity to bring in new generations even more quickly, and probably maintain some sort of backward compatibility going forward, a la PC. the starting price point of $400 is also reasonable enough where consumers will probably be ok with making another purchase like that more often - especially if it doesn't make their existing games become obsolete. i think the PS4's simpler unified memory approach is a bit more future proof and backw...
