I never collected all 100 gold skulltulas in OoT and it flabbergasted me why speedrunners considered it necessary for a 100% playthrough.

Eat this, speedrunners. Go get your 100% now. I will enjoy decades of Youtube speedruns where you grind yourselves senseless for a pile of digital poo.

I went to a Duke Nukem 3D LAN party when I was a kid. It was a blast. The weapons were off the wall and crazy for it's time. The shrinker/expander had me giggling the first time I used it to step on someone. I got it for the N64 years later and had fun playing it with friends on splitscreen.

It was one of the best FPS in it's time. It had as much of an impact on FPS in it's day that the first Halo had. Can't imagine how anyone could think it was a bad sequel...

PC libtards crying over a cutscene included to cater to the PC crowd because the libtards don't think it's PC enough.

Just about covers it.

7/10 seems honest and admittedly that's probably the experience I would expect to have from it: a good, but not earth shatteringly awesome one. I haven't played a truly awesome game in a long time.

Strange how the hype train works. For some games it creates unrealistic expectations that lead to a launch disaster (like NMS) for others it creates a cult of personality that makes a game untouchable (Zelda). Others it creates a myth of a good game where nothing but crap...

People are trashing it because of a speedrun, really? I mean, really? This means absolutely nothing about the quality of the content in the game! The point of speedruns is to skip the content!

Look up Cosmo Wright's speedruns of Ocarina of Time on Youtube. He's beaten OoC in less than 20 minutes. Does that mean Ocarina sucks too?

I want to repeat what someone else said here: Just because he can, doesn't mean everyone else can. I love OoT. It&#...

They should have Uriel on the roster. I hated him in Quake III Arena. Somersaulting bastard shooting rockets through fog.

Reading the patch notes, it sounds like this is what the game should have been released as. I admit it left me with some buyer's remorse at launch but I think I will give it a try again after I've finished playing Torment.

Part of me finds this a little ridiculous, and part of me understands. I've ran into leechers in MMO raids before who would stand around spawn and collect loot and earn experience as the rest of the party kills things, because of how the party would share rewards in the raid. So I can understand wanting to make sure everyone gets involved and is geared properly.

On the other hand, most MMO's have chat channels for this type of thing and you shouldn't have to pay...

What? Expect your competition to make a valid comparison versus your IP? Pffft.

It's a Playstation Universe article listing a 5-day-old Zelda title as No. 2 against it's best-selling IP. If that doesn't make Sony afraid, it really should.

Are they comparing first week sales, or are they comparing the total sales of Horizon versus these 5 days that Zelda has sold?

Because that would be stupid.

I'm not familiar with the business in question. Were they selling mod chips or flash carts for the Switch? I looked at their website and they have Ps4 and Xbox One stuff. So it's possible they were.

I have a GBA flash cart, and I like the modding community for the game boy. They have a lot of creative stuff out there for it. Custom backlit game boys, custom made games that were never released commercially. It doesn't bother me at all when people mod retro consol...

"placing first week Nintendo Switch sales at 330,637 units."
"slightly ahead of the PS4 (322,100)"

What were you saying now?

... And there's still two days left for the first week of the Switch!

Outsold the Ps4 during it's debut week in Japan? You don't say???

Wait! What if this happens in other countries as well? The first week isn't over yet. There's still a couple days left.

Sorry never played Bayonetta, and I'm not convinced it's as earth-shaking in the world of gaming as it's fans make it out to be. Same for Dragon Age and FFX. It shouldn't be surprising that 3 out of the 5 I picked are Nintendo IP and are recognizable even by non-gamers. People have seen Nintendo advertisements for them since the days of the NES.

Laura Croft ...

We don't even know how long a Switch console will last. The fact that it can be used as a handheld means it will be more prone to accidental damage. Your purchases should be tied to your account.

This will encourage users to purchase less digital, and more cartridges.

I thought Zelda seemed kind of flat? The great fairies seemed a little garish, to be honest. Too much makeup and sparkles.

I haven't played the game yet, but I'm not seeing the sex appeal. I wish it had, though. A busty Zelda in a revealing dress would be awesome.

Don't worry. I can read the article for you, so you don't have to become literate. It's okay. You will no doubt find a job cleaning dog poop when you grow up.

"Now thanks to an unpublished interview with Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime by New York Times reporter Nick Wingfield, we have a very rough idea of Switch sales in our region. Sales for the first 48 hours of the system "exceeded" the first 48 hour sales for any other system i...

It's way too early to be calling it that. Give it a few years and then decide how it performed compared to others.

IMO N64 was the best console, followed closely by the SNES. But those were the consoles of my childhood so there's a huge nostalgia factor for me. But you can't deny both had a great lineup of games, especially splitscreen games. Most people multiplayer online these days. I miss having friends come over to game together.

I was hoping the Switch wouldn't have motion controls. Sad to see Ninty shoe-horning gimmicks into their games again.

The motion controls for the Wii sucked. My controls would desync every minute or two in Skyward Sword and I was constantly spamming the down button (or was it up button? can't remember) to re-sync the controls again. There were a few side-quests I never completed because the sloppy controls simply wouldn't allow it. And this is with the golden wi...

I have an 8-core Vishera in my gaming PC and it chews up any game I've thrown at it so far. Watch the ub3rg4merZ verbally thrash me for being a peasant who games on peasant farming tools.

I might get a Ryzen in a few years when the cost drops and I can build another budget gaming PC. By then both Intel and AMD will have come out with something new and even more expensive, and the ub3rg4merZ will thrash me for being a peasant again.

I see no reason to ...
